I used to love going to this restaurant but that was under the previous ownership. My experience was very frustrating. When I told them that the rice was loose and falling apart, the owner sent the waitress back to us to let us know that it was supposed to be that way. We looked at our waitress “like seriously!?!” She apologized and took the plate over to show the owner. Most of the rice was on the table because it was not well made, authentic sushi. Our waitress was very polite and apologetic when we expressed that the atmosphere was too loud. We are talking bar type energy not a classy sushi restaurant. The owner was the loudest and frankly the rudest and off putting person in the building. She only gave us a small discount on the dish that kept falling apart before we could get it in our mouths. I was hoping for a wonderful meal in a beautiful atmosphere but instead I over paid for bad sushi and got insulted by the owner. If you run a business you should be able to take criticism. I didn’t want to have to post a review, and this is the first one I have ever made but unfortunately felt compelled to do so. One of the waitresses who was acting as the crowd booster and walking from table to table was yelling and riling each group up. That same annoying waitress came over to our table after we politely complained to our kind waitress about our experience and asked us about it. I was honest and even told her the part she played in our experience and she said in a condescending tone “We like to create an upbeat really fun environment so you should go somewhere else” before she told me she was the owner. I told her I don’t need her input and she said “I will give you my input because I’m the owner”. I said we still had a horrible experience. She didn’t care and looked at me like I was beneath her. Classy and polite or even tolerable are not any way to describe Nourish with this type of management. I felt sorry for the kind waitress and hopes she will find a healthier work environment. I will not be coming back and I’m telling anyone I can to go elsewhere. Good luck staying in business and you should treat your customers with respect...
Read moreThe experience was over-all pretty mid. We were greeted and seated immediately, the waitress was very sweet and attentive. There was a slight issue when we asked for chopstick holders for my 10 year old. They supplied the holders, but the holders don't work on the metal chopsticks they have. It took 3 times of asking, but they eventually found chopsticks that would fit in the holders. If your child needs these, best to bring your own. Otherwise ask for the short green plastic chopsticks, those worked reasonably well.
Weirdly, the sushi rolls came immediately, and we found ourselves in the situation of being finished with our rolls while still waiting on our appetizers, one of which was just edamame. The sushi rolls were tasty, and the mango added a bright and delicious flavor. There was also a hot mustard sauce going on that was pretty good. The salmon sashimi was a good quality fish, but was sliced very small and thin for being priced at 22 dollars for 8 pieces. When the appetizers finally arrived, the edamame was extremely salty. It wasn't inedible but it was definitely oversalted. The other appetizer we ordered was the buta balls, and this is really where the wheels fell off. Not only did they not arrive until we had already been finished with everything else for almost 10 minutes, but they were truly just awful. They are essentially a deep fried tempura batter ball filled with a flavorless mush in the middle. The texture was truly horrendous and neither my daughter or I could take a second bite. The waitress asked how we liked them, and there was no hiding the fact that we had barely touched them, so I let her know they weren't to our liking. She offered to take them off the tab, and when I declined she took half off for them anyways which was very sweet.
All in all, the sushi rolls were good. We might be back if we ever want sushi but don't want to drive to Auburn or Roseville. They are worth a try, but whatever you do, don't order the...

This place works great in your favor if you know the owner/chef. You’ll get your food before anyone else, even if others have been waiting for more than 20+ min after the order is placed. You get to get “special priority” for sure!
Background: Two people only for a walk in dinner on a Thursday evening. Restaurant had about 20 or less guests eating at the restaurant. Arrived 6:30pm and left at 8:30pm.
The customer service was awful! We had requested chop sticks and I ended up using my friends because the waiter went off cleaning tables, seating people and taking orders. I had ordered one of their specialty shot sushi and didn’t get it until I had asked when it will be coming (they forgot because the kitchen was backed up with orders). Meanwhile, a couple that came after us (like 20 min later) were seated and got their food before us. The waiters checked in on periodically, but we weren’t. We had to raise our voice to get the waiters attention and she seemed annoyed with us for getting her attention.
The same couple mentioned left before us. THEY GOT THERE AFTER US AND LEFT BEFORE US! Like what?!?
All we got 2 sushi rolls and a side of rice and salmon. 2 hours of mostly waiting! The couple got appetizer, trays of sushi and a sushi shot. They got more stuff than us and left before us, WILD. But goes to show that they were prioritized.
The quality of the food was ok, the portions did seem much smaller that what’s listed on the menu. When you track food and measure food, you know when portions don’t look like as it’s claimed.
If you’ve had sushi from Trader Joes, it’s equivalent to the quality, it just costs more at this restaurant and takes forever. . . Unless you know...
