Let me start by saying my experience had nothing to do with the taste and quality of the food. The service we received from the waitress at the restaurant was deplorable. There are cards on each table that say āTo order online, scan this QR code.ā My wife and I, after not being approached by the waitress for about 5 minutes, decide to order and pay through the QR code offered at the table. We explained to the waitress who was on duty Tuesday June 29 2021 9:30am, that we ordered through the online ordering option. She then said āOh, you ordered from the TO GO menu they will bring you the food outside.ā I explained that nowhere on the card, AT THE TABLE, did it say anything about it being a TO GO order and that we just wanted to have breakfast. The waitress then said āIf you are sitting here you order with me, if you order with the online code, you have to take it to go.ā Iāve heard of stuff like this in bars but not in a restaurant. I then asked the waitress, āwhere do I go to pick up the food that we ordered and paid for?ā I had to walk around the restaurant with her just to get an answer. She would not stop what she was doing to help at all. I then went to the manager, who, thankfully, was kind enough to take a minute and see what our issue was and help us with sorting it out. She went to the back. Found our online order, had it plated and brought it out to the table. All things the waitress was perfectly capable of doing. We thanked her for going above and beyond to sort the issue out and left. The waitress on duty was rude, dismissive, and unwilling to help a table that she felt she wouldnāt get credit or a tip for because we used the online ordering option that is clearly on EVERY table. I didnāt get her name but Iāll get my food elsewhere from now on. You really need to look into a more professional server during breakfast hours. She got in fight with the waiter ( in front of me) , which was 10x more grumpier than her.
Anthony ( I got his name of the receipt) with no greeting or any sign of welcome,asked what Iām gonna drink/eat with a mad face and bring back my order at the table with no word said. On my āthank you ā he just turned his head around and left š. They were out of āYou are welcomeā.
I havenāt experienced anything like that - this unique type of treatment. I understood that they are not welcoming people ( next table was treated the same way ) but they act like you are eating on their expense.
I understand that California Pizza Kitchen is not a high end chain of restaurants, but Iāve seen better service in MC Donaldās, where you pay $5 for a meal. For 10 times the price, decency is mandatory :)

We asked for a coffee she said wasnāt brew and was hesitant to brew for just one. When we fussed she said sheād do half a pot. But only open till 1 (still 2.5 hours from when we sat) so wasnāt going to brew a whole pot. So a second said sheād have coffee too while the rest ordered water. She could not have been more annoyed with us nor really enthused to help. We work in service and typically tip well. I never understand when your income is based on your customer encounter and experience why you start off rude or combative. Always boggles me. With each response from her we each looked at each other and decided weād walk to metro pizza around the corner and save the 20 per pizza we were going to spend and trade it for just a slice which is all we really needed. Lol and stepped right next door to Starbucks for coffees. Save your money and eat somewhere where people are welcoming and polite. Iād suggest avoiding Anneās area. Sheās not happy about...
