Sadly, I have a complaint after tonight's experience. My family and my friend's family had a visited this DQ to grab dessert to celebrate my friend's birthday after eating a one of the nearby restaurants. We walked in and ordered our desserts not knowing most of the tables except for 2 tables (one by the freezer for cakes and one in the back by the restrooms) were preoccupied by a large group of teens loitering inside the dining area. When I say large I mean approximately 20 teens either sitting at the tables or stand around with skateboards in hand. Only 1 or 2 kids had a drink and a small order of food. I have been to this establishment before with my family and friends to hopefully enjoy ice cream after our dinner. Occationally I would see a small group containing 3-5 teens sitting around. Tonight was the largest and the most hostile group I've encountered. After ordering, we were trying to decide where to sit our group of 7 (3 toddlers, 2 moms, and 2 dad's). We managed to fit the kids and moms at the table while the dad's had to stand because the teens refused to get up. The young teen Caucasian cashier with long blond hair (I hope the owner reads this review and I able to identify which person I'm referring to) took our order and then told us there were a couple of chairs in the back of we needed them. She then went up to group of teens and exchanged a few words and went back to work. I dot know what was said but it seemed as though the gang of teens were her friends and she had no intention to asking them to leave. As we're waiting for our desserts some of the young teens started saying out loud that they weren't afraid of him. Next thing I noticed they're giving dirty looks at my friend. My friend, a father, stands at 6'6", large body built. My friend had to use the restroom, the teens are blocking the walkway and none want to step aside when a person is trying to use the restroom. We're trying to mind our own business but the teens are still trying to be hostile. My friend ends up having to exchange a few words with the teens and they finally back down. A couple more paying customers are trying to find seats but the teens don't move so they end up leaving. At that point we all lost our appetite, throw away our half eaten desserts and walk out. The employees do nothing. One of the employees looks like a manager and just rolls her eyes as she walks by the large gang of teens. I don't think my husband and I will be bring our family and friends to this establishment anymore....
Read moreVisited Apr 7 @ 6:55. First off, I waited 10 minutes to get a small Blizzard as the second person in line. When I eventually got it the cashier had typed in the order incorrectly so I got the wrong Blizzard. I shrugged it off since I had already been waiting so long and asked for a replacement with the one I had ordered. The second one was brought out, and the server was very careful not to do the upside down routine because my Blizzard was the consistency of soup. It looked nothing like a Blizzard, but I gave up at this point and just left, drippy Blizzard in hand, because I'd been there 20 minutes already.
Tried calling the number Google gives (they took my receipt in the replacement) and I got what sounds like a private voicemail, so I'm not even sure my complaint will get through to them. The whole experience was terrible. The cashier was brand new, so I can't really fault him (though the person in front of me as well as another patron who was waiting for their food both had their orders delayed and wrong) but the second Blizzard was served to me by someone who looked like a manager. The fact she thought it was suitable to give to me is...
Read moreI seem to be on a kick for cheese curds as of late. They have always been one of my favorite snacks, but lately I've been finding myself trying new options at various places to see how they stand up to each other. Trying options I've never considered before such as fast food. Before this the only fast food name I'd ever consider was A&W. There's a wonderful location in Boulder City, for example. But I'll save that review for another day. For now, we have Dairy Queen. Honestly, I never knew until today that they even had this on the menu. I'll give it to him, they're not bad at all. I still prefer A&W, but these are a close enough second I guess. One of the best options in town is the Blue Ox Tavern, but it would be difficult and unfair to compare this to that. So for now, I will give DQ second place for fast food cheese curds. The texture is well enough, the cheese tastes well enough. They were perfectly warm and the amount was pretty decent as well. I guess I have to continue trying new options and adding new reviews as I go. Any recommendations for a non-fast food cheese courage around town would be wonderful. I'll do my best to try...
