This is a nice little place on the south side of town that is worth a visit. I went with my mother. The place is split in half, with the bar/smoking section separated from the nonsmoking area, where we sat. The nonsmoking area is much like a very tiny restaurant with a big television on one wall, and it was virtually empty and oh so quiet! My mother had the bacon cheeseburger, and I had the Philly cheesesteak. I'm keto, so when I asked our server, Sydney, if I could get the sandwich on lettuce instead of a bun and a vegetable instead of fries, she went straight away to ask the chef. She came back and said that I could get broccoli instead of fries and the cheesesteak guts in between big lettuce leaves, which was perfect. It was a great cheesesteak, if not traditional because they used provolone instead of Cheese Wiz (thank goodness), and there was no extra charge for my substitutions, which I mightily appreciated. The bacon cheeseburger was very good (my mom gave be a bit of the guts of it), and Mom also said that it was some of the best cole slaw she'd ever had. But the best part about all of it? Have recommended this place to many, but have concerns about being ripped off by a Sunday morning waitress for $20.00. I have had this same waitress time and time again, unfortunately she tarnished my trust in her from this experience. The meal came to around 34 dollars. My son paid her by giving her 3 twenties which I witnessed. He thought she would understand he wanted change for one of the twenties but she gave him change from 40 dollars only, keeping one twenty of the 60. He right away mentioned he had given her 60 dollars but she said he did not. I am so disappointed in this waitress. We let it go because it kind of embarrassed me to fight the point since she has waited on me with others before. My son still left her the balance of the 40 dollars as a tip. But she did rip him off for 20 dollars no question about it. I will not be able to recommend Sunday morning breakfast again to any one to have at Home Plate. I know she is guilty of this because once the 60 dollars was mentioned which she denied receiving, she stayed away from our table for a long period of time. Ordered chicken parm, pizza and the cookie dessert through grub hub and... -The chicken parm was burnt. -The cookie was also burnt. -They forgot the ice cream, chocolate sauce and whipped cream that is supposed to come with the cookie.

Update: Today I ordered the borracho BLT wrap and whoever wrapped it needs to learn to cook because all of the chicken was on one side and all the lettuce was on the other side. Anyone working in a kitchen should know how to properly fold a burrito/wrap to even out the ingredients. The chicken tasted processed and frozen, and the french fries were just sad...so brown and oily and lifeless and flavorless and cold.

Update number 3: Ordered 2 pizzas and a cookie dessert through grubhub and both pizzas and the dessert were burnt after an hour wait. Very disappointing yet again..
