By far, the worst experience I’ve ever had at any Las Vegas establishment!!! We got back to the Luxor late after a long fun-filled day and missed the in-room delivery so we traveled downstairs to order some food for my teenagers (ages 17 and 18). We didn’t plan on staying so we ordered at the bar with a Hispanic bartender who told us our teens could not sit at the bar. Understandably, we sat them at a regular table while waiting for the food. My fiancé then ordered two margaritas and took a smoke of his vape. (Which he had been doing at two other bars and the Luxor casino with no problem). The Hispanic bartender notifies him that there is no smoking and he apologizes and puts the vape in his pocket. After the food arrives, my daughter approaches me at the bar and asks for a cranberry juice and my son a sprite. At the completion of their meal, my son approaches me and requests to go back to the room, when the restaurant manager angrily approaches us and yells “YOU’RE DONE. ALL OF YOU. PACK UP YOU AND THEM, and LEAVE NOW!” Me and my fiancé were so confused and humiliated in front of the entire restaurant. When trying to a him what his problem was, he says “I’m not going back in forth. Leave or I am calling security”. My fiancé and I was highly offended at the yelling, tone and unwillingness to provide details as to why we were being treated like this. We heeded all of their instructions: my kids were not sitting in the bar area, my fiancé apologized for not knowing the bar area was non-smoking and discontinued vaping, and the kids only approached temporarily to ask for soda and permission to return to the room. This manager was NEVER on the restaurant floor to see any of this and refused to speak with us outside of the establishment. We asked to speak with his superior and he said “it wouldn’t matter and if we didn’t leave we would lose our hotel stay”. Not only were we angered but we were humiliated. The other African American group had left 10 minutes prior to this happening… so I guess it was time for us to go, as well? Still waiting for a call from the restaurant manager and the food coordinator...
Read moreDon't eat a Public House. I have eaten here a handful of times and the issue is generally the same- service is terrible, not open for enough hours in the day, etc. I will never eat here again. I have never eaten here when at least one order in my party has not been brought out incorrectly. The last time I ate there was the best, in May 2018, and we had a party of 14 which my husband and I paid the bill for- one ticket. Some orders were wrong and people had to wait for a re-do, but we were offered no compensation or discount. Our server was nice and apologetic, but gee we spent well over $400 on drinks and meals. I had chicken fingers that time. Not as good as the ones in the food court upstairs at Original Chicken Finger. I have previously had several different salads. Nothing special, and one was half cilantro-gross, and I had been told there was no cilantro in it. The menu here needs a revision by a professional. The last time I tried to eat here, July 4 week 2018, the server told us we had to wait at least 30 minutes. There were numerous open tables. Really? I am a platinum member and have been to Vegas and the Luxor more times than I can count. Luxor, you need to fix this. The place is a waste of space, and the marketing for the restaurant, including branding, is horrible- what are you doing, MGM? You ruined Monte Carlo turning it into The Park, but at least you could have moved The Pub over here- branding much better and hip than Public House, which my husband is now calling Pubic Hole. If they had to close LAX(a mistake IMHO), it is a shame they did not combine LAX and Public House to make something great like The Pub was or create an energetic, fun vibe more like NY NY. Instead, they closed LAX to make a giant video gameroom for teenage boys, either mentally or in reality- kids are allowed with older kid chaperones. There's not even any gambling going on in there! UGH! SO stupid, MGM. Just be a casino with good and available food,...
Read moreI do not like to do this, but I’m very disappointed we ordered one of their signature, popular dishes, barbecue ribs, Caesar salad, And french fries, Caesar salad or just OK nothing special. French fries were blonde and pieces of the bottom of the bag not cooked all the way through. Ribs were boiled in a bag cooked in an oven, throw in on the grill and lathered with barbecue sauce. The worst ribs I’ve ever had. The best thing on the dinner was a 2 ounce cup of kale coleslaw with root vegetables. Talk to the manager showed him our ribs and our food. He told me they smoked them fresh that day. There was no smoke ring on these ribs, like I said they were the worst ribs we’ve ever had. I would not recommend ordering the ribs. After dinner I went to the restroom and to top it off. The woman in the stall next-door was puking her guts out, I’ve tried to talk to the manager of the hotel and he will not return my phone call. The ribs are so overcooked it was like eating, dried up jerky, stringy, gray. If you’re gonna have three things you specialize in they better be good but I doubt if they have a smoker by any means in the middle of that building. I have smoked a lot of meats, been a lot of barbecue competitions and like I said they need some new chefs, managers, and food manager for the hotel.
The reason we pick a hotel is not just for the rooms we pick a hotel for relaxation quality, clean rooms, The spa and of course, good food. We will not be going back to the Luxor this year. I may be a bit of a food critic. I am a chef and I take pride in what I do. I cook for thousands of thousands of people every year. You need to start with good quality product, not take short steps. Take pride in what you do, And create food that you would eat yourself and be proud to spend...
