Bento's Bar & Grill — Restaurant in New Bedford

Visited Bento's for the first time. They've been open for 2 weeks. Still very early in the process and working out the kinks. With that said here's my experience. Sat at the bar for some lunch. Started with their chowder and stuffed quahog. Crackers for soup and butter for stuffie offered after they came out. Thought both were okay. Had their Portuguese burger. Asked for a medium cook, came out well done. Thought it was a little bland. Was supposed to come with a sauce and had to ask for it. Sauce does add some flavor. Asked for sweet potatoe fries and got regular fries without a heads up. Thought it was okay as well. Friendly staff. Had to seek them out at times. Place wasn't that busy. Had high hopes. Will eventually give them another try. Running a business is tough, trying to be nice...

Hip young staff, aim to please, very polite and helpful. The vibe is great mellow and clean with a very unique fresh design. It goes from restaurant vibes to night club vibes seamlessly. Transitions well. There is even food for vegetarians which is excellent for me and my family. They are new and learning and as i continue to support this establishment they continue to learn and respond to feedback. Its a great place to go with family and i even had the chance to go to a private party there. Musical guests all the time. Thursday karaoke night. This is going to be the place to be. Interesting place. Food took a little while to come out. Husband got the blackened salmon over a delicious cheesy pasta with red and green peppers in it. He loved it. I got a scallop, shrimp and fish baked dish which was very tasty though not huge portions, definitely sufficient .The sides on mine were mashed potatoes and asparagus, the potatoes could have been a bit warmer and some of the asparagus was a bit overcooked. The seasoning on the asparagus was very good. Both were approximately $26. I had a grey goose and soda water with lime, very good. They had entertainment starting at 7:00 a wonderful man and woman with beautiful voices, not too loud which was nice to carry on a...
