Don't get the All You Can Eat option unless you want to pay for a lot of rice and very little fish.
I have no reason to dispute those who come for dinner and have a good experience.
My comments are only on the all you can eat sushi lunch I had there. The restaurant itself was nicely done. So was the regular menu, though at the time the prices were quite high compared to other local places.
I opted for all you can eat sushi. Simply put, for a flat fee, one can indulge all one wants. It seemed like a good deal until the food arrived. There was barely any fish and the rice was dry and hard, making it difficult to swallow. Then there was the rule that said every bit of rice had to be eaten, or there would be a penalty of paying full price for each item left behind on the plate.
I can see why a restaurant might do that. No doubt there were people who would over order and leave food behind or try to sneak it out the door. I have a good idea of how much sushi I can eat before I get full. What I wasn't counting on was that the rice was dry and hard, making it close to inedible. Or, that the slices of fish were so thin that the pieces of sushi were basically lumps of rice with a hint of fish.
I got towards the end of what I could eat, even with a big appetite. The waitress came by to check and informed me that I would have close to $20 added to my check if I didn't eat everything on the plate.
I tried. Got down to the last two pieces and had to make a quick dash to visit the porcelain god. I got back to the table and that was it. I ended up paying the full price for two pieces, which was insult added to...
Read moreMing's Sushi for dinner with friends was entertaining. We opted for all we can eat. We were seated at a table for 4. Our server brought over a paper menu and pencil. Drink order was taken. I ordered hot green tea. The server poured it table side from a stone tea kettle. The atmosphere was lively with some type of party going on. The reason for the lower rating was the way this party carried on. We could hear vulgarity and some obnoxious carrying on. I do not mind a little high spirited behavior, but even I have a line. It did not completely take away from the evening, but definitely my rating of the evening.
However, the meal was very good. I started with a bowl of miso soup. It was nice an warm. My friends had seaweed salad. We choose some appetizers. We had a money bag that was like crab rangoons. We had shumai (dumplings) and tempura. The tempura was light and airy on the shrimp, heavy and not well battered on the vegetables (Sweet potatoes especially), gyzoza (dumplings) were very good, we had terraki beef (I did not enjoy this as it was chewy) which I give 3.5 out of 10.
We then ate a ton of sushi. The place has some fun names: Vegas roll, Hawaii roll, Playboy roll, and ton others. The one above mentioned had sweet chili sauce.
We finished with red bean or green tea ice cream.

Read moreWent here for the all you can eat dinner for my birthday and was THOROUGHLY disappointed. They got mad when I made them explain how the all you can eat system worked (you write the desired number of each item that you want in the box). When the food came, I KNEW that I didn't get every dish I ordered. I figured they would bring it out in waves since I was at a fairly small table. Instead, they brought the bill over after my first plate, expecting me to pay and leave. Once they saw me sitting there for a while just waiting, they asked if I was "ok". This is when I realized they were trying to con me out of my intelligence, dignity and money. I told them I didn't get my order and they brought out another menu for me to write down what I didn't get which indicates they had NO intention of keeping track of my initial order. Maybe this is because I came about 40 minutes before closing but for sushi, I know it doesn't take THAT long to prepare. Also, they kept reminding me they were closing soon like every minute, synonymous to that of an annoying phone alarm. Ming Sushi, you could do better. If you go here, make sure you are VERY assertive and vocal, otherwise they will take FULL advantage. As far as the food is concerned, I would say it is beautifully prepared and quite authentic when it comes to...
