I would like to start off by saying, I absolutely love the pizza from both of the Brick Pizzeria locations I have visited so far. This review is more of the customer service, than the food. Let me say a few words on the food though, to be fair. The dough was crispy, burned in all the right ways, and had the perfect texture, the sauce was as always amazing and the ingredients always taste fresh. With that being said, even though I live in New Bedford, I will be traveling to the Fairhaven location moving forward. I enjoy not only the great food, but the friendly environment there. My husband and I were in the Downtown area and decided to stop in at the Brick Pizzeria there. We were looking forward to sitting down and enjoying some great pizza in a beautiful dining area. At first glance, it’s bright and hip looking. It almost reminded me of the pizzerias I frequently visited living in NJ tristate area. Unfortunately, my nostalgia induced bliss ended there, and our dine in lunch quickly turned into a take out order. We were instantly turned off by the less than friendly attitude the young lady behind the counter gave us. She seemed to be having a busy day full of call in/online orders (this is only my opinion based on my observation of the dining room being empty as we came in). That does not excuse the unfriendly and pretty much rude behavior. She treated my husband, who was in the middle of talking to her about our order, as if he were a bother. She cut him off in the middle of his sentence and rushed him with our order. Thankfully my husband and I were on the same page and when asked if we would like it to “eat in or to go” we both said … “To Go!” a bit too eagerly. We enjoyed the food, it’s was great, as always. We kind of expected the customer service to be just as bright and inviting as the...
Read moreDespite a location adjacent to a paved pocket park and within walking distance of the Zeiterion Theatre, today the Brick Pizzeria Napoletana serves up miserly pizzas in a sterile, self-serve cafeteria setting. Though pricing is moderate, servings are rationed. In the past, it was a worthwhile dining destination. Now, the quality and selections have plummeted. The Spinaci - spinach goat cheese pizza had a sprinkling of leaves and less goat cheese that had to be altered with an arugula salad to make it palatable. Prices quoted online have been raised on the menu. The meatballs, though tasty were three and undersized for the price. They no longer have calzones on the menu. The Bruschetta had a few halved cherry tomatoes and no basil though lots of mozzarella. It was doctored with the red sauce from the meatballs and arugula. Then it was delicious. The Carmine had few caramelized onions. However, The cannoli was exceptionally good. Unfortunately, there was no espresso coffee with dessert. Something has changed here? Perhaps they are under new management or are over franchised? Whatever happened, the place now lacks quality, authenticity, and ambiance and may lack customers if it does not get its act together. This is...
Read moreI'd say a "Super Disappointed" 2.5 Stars... I hadn't been to Brick (NB) in a while--since before they opened their additional locations... Tonight I ordered my usual, SALSICCIA (White pizza with sausage, roasted red peppers, ricotta). When I got home and opened the box it was mostly cheese and dough. Don't get me wrong, I like cheese and dough--and if I'd ordered a cheese pizza, I wouldn't be writing this--or maybe it would be a really happy review. But I ordered a pizza with toppings and got: a paltry pinch of peppers and an even smaller smattering of sausage. :( I really love(d) their Salsiccia (hooray for a white-pizza with meat!), but they used to make their individual pizzas with a really decent amount of toppings, and you felt like you were getting what you paid for.... now, not so much. I love that they're a local place with authentic brick-oven pizzas, but I want to know that I'm getting a good value, and I just don't think it is (anymore). I believe that their other food is tasty (so I've heard--I only ever order the salsiccia), but I'm very much a creature of habit, so I don't think I'd go out of my way to...
