Dairy Queen — Restaurant in New Bern

I've been meaning to stop here all summer! I pick one of the coolest nights to give it a try. Plenty of parking. Cashier acting as if she was having a bad day. (We're all allowed to have a bad day every now and then aren't we?). Dealing with the public can be difficult... Years ago I used to bring my favorite people to DQ. I stopped for a chocolate dipped cone! Brought back some great memories! My cone was HUGE! it was well worth the $4+ I gave for it! I enjoyed watching young families stopping here and could feel the excitement from the reactions they gave when receiving their dairy treat...

One of my favorite people I used to bring years ago is no longer living... I remember bringing him one time and he got a chocolate shake, I got a large chocolate malt. They close in the fall and you are sad. Then around Christmas it's "Why can't they stay open year round? WAAAA!" THEN the weather starts getting NICE! You start looking every time you are in town. Well..... you think anticlimactic! Then you have the WORST DAY EVER! THEN, oh my, be still my heart, you are the only person there! You go to the window! EEEKK! YOU CAN'T REMEMBER WHY YOU ARE THERE!!! Oh yes, medium chocolate cone. AND HE HAS SEEN YOUR FACE, YOUR SHAKING HANDS AND KNOWS, JUST KNOWS ABOUT YOUR BAD DAY LIKE HE'S A PSYCHIC. Then he says, "This is on me, no more bad day, ok?" You walk to your car in a daze. Sit down and START CRYING LIKE A FOOL AS YOU EAT THAT WONDERFUL, LONG AWAITED CHOCOLATE NECTAR! Just left this DQ. I always get the turtle pecan blizzard which seems to never have any pecan or very little so I paid for extra even tip them and again they made my blizzard very poor none of the topping was added and very little pecan just a bunch of ice-cream. Highly disappointed and I feel it was made this way on purpose as they rushed it right out. I also noticed the difference in quality of mine compared to "others" I understand sometimes it gets busy and they can't always be accurate but this has happened multiple times and for the price I paid for it I'd appreciate it to atleast be what I paid for I've been coming here for years and I know the difference highly disappointed "p.o"...
