Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen — Restaurant in New Bern

I visit Popeye's periodically as I really enjoy their spicy chicken (tenders or sandwich) and the price is very reasonable. Normally, I don't have any issues with the service or meal, but this visit was different. First I had to wait a while as they had run out of the spicy coating mix so were frantically trying to catch up to a growing line of customers. When I finally had my order taken for dining in (a few interruptions by other staff) I was informed it would be a few minutes wait. As I finished getting my drink and napkins, they called my name. I'm thinking that was way too soon and I picked up the order (bagged to go) and mentioned that was fast and was to be done in. He apologized but I said it was okay. When I got to my table and pulled everything out, I found my sides, but the chicken was pieces; not the tenders, so I returned and explained it to him (becoming obvious he was a new employee) and apologized again and said he would fix it soon. I returned to my table and began eating my sides (green beans & taters with gravy) for about 7 minutes when I was called to the counter again. I checked the box right there and had the tenders plus some fries which I hadn't ordered. I again informed him of the error but decided not to wait any longer (still a line of customers) so told him thanks and returned to my table to dine. The experience was only slightly frustrating because of the service, but the food was good enough to overcome the issues. Again, I want to stress this was an unusual situation I had not encountered before during the many visits...

My wife and I attended the New Bern Mum Fest on October 1, 2019. We stopped by this store the same day. I will breakdown our food,service and the names of the three individuals responsible for our pleasant visit. I'll start by saying per my google reviews you will see my wife and I visit a variety of restaurants from fine dining to fast food. This day our order was taken by "Donna" she was informative, polite courteous,attentive in every way. She made us feel welcomed and was effectively taking care of the front of the restaurant. Donna should be commended she is surely a most positive reflection of what true customer service should be and a definite asset to this establishment. The person that helped place our order on the tray was "Tae" . She worked effectively and efficiently and took great care to insure our request were achieved. The person cooking was requested to make our shrimp fresh. He had a very positive demeanor and took special care in preparing the shrimp. We enjoyed fried chicken moist,hot, fresh and delicious. My mother and i are very particular people we seldom go out to get "fast food" cause no one ever gets our order right or gives us respect once we start to get a little specific about what we want how we want it. we order particular food cooked in a particular fashion. on top of all that we have high standards regarding cleanliness and flat out how long is this going to take ya know. I gave this review 5 stars 10/10 would and will go back. we were greeted at the door and waited on with a smile during taking our order. Our food was prepared correctly in a very timely manner the manager was a very nice woman who made conversation while we waited once we informed wait staff it was our first time at this establishment.I think the whole order till we received food took about 6 minutes which is great since they made a specific special order just for us. food was hot tasted great price was super cheap couldn't have asked for better service . i don't know if management or employees have changed since some of the other bad reviews up here occurred but personally my mother and i couldnt have expected service to be as good as it was all of our friends and family in the area who have been here as well couldnt agree...
