I am beyond disgusted with this place. My office has regularly ordered from here at minimum, once a week. Now we have heard from several people that their customer service was horrible & we dismissed that bc the food was always great, fresh, and hot. Today was the first day we had a problem with the order. We always get morning bagels w/bacon, egg, tomato, and herb cheese. It has always been given on a plain or everything bagel. Today they gave it on a cinnamon raisin bagel and on my bagel, the bacon was undercooked. I called them, the lady I spoke to didn’t even let me talk. She interrupted me and told me the bagel is all they had and they never undercook food. I told her a cinnamon raisin bagel with HERB cheese, bacon & egg is gross and she said she’ll get a manager then hung up the phone on me. I called again, no answer. I called 20 minutes later, I told the guy what happened and he just said “ok”. I said I want to speak w/ a manager and he hung up the phone. I called again, and the SAME guy answered and told me that I talked to someone else and again stated I was wrong about the bad order. I asked if this is how they treat good customers and he said “well is this how you treat employees by abusing them”. Completely uncalled for since I was not yelling but simply frustrated after being hung up on, interrupted, and told I was wrong about saying the order was bad. They didn’t even attempt to rectify it or just simply say “Im sorry”. Our weekly business will be taken elsewhere which is a shame because all of us really prefer our money spent at a local business. We will never go back as a group or...
Read moreWhile in New Bern today my husband and I were wanting to take my mother in law out to lunch for her birthday. We were looking for something different and I had just read about the Kitchen on Trent, so we decided to give it a try. All I can say is it was absolutely delicious! I ordered the homemade chicken noodle soup and 1/2 chicken salad wrap. Since I don’t care for wraps, the owner worked with me and traded it for the croissant. Y’all for restaurant food it was amazing! I also had their southern pecan coffee and I will say it was way better than any Starbucks coffee I’ve ever had, and for the record, I absolutely love Starbucks! I couldn’t decide which muffin I wanted so I literally bought 2 of each one they had! So far I’ve had 1/2 of the peach muffin because I was too full to eat the other half, lol. To me the peach muffin taste like a peach cobbler, but in muffin form. The establishment was very clean and inviting. You order and pay upfront at the register. The gentleman that wrung us up was very helpful and when I asked him if he was the owner, he stated that he was. He was very helpful and had a good personality. With that being said, the older lady that delivered our food was hands down the sweetest person I think I have ever met! She too was so helpful and she made our visit so much better just because of her insight, personality, and helpfulness. This establishment definitely is a come as you are kinda restaurant. It has an affordable menu and the baked goods are covered and or in a bakery case. So if you are looking for some good local food I would highly suggest giving the Kitchen on...
Read moreBefore you read this, let me point out to you that Yelp is not nearly so kind as the current 4.1 rating and I'd also check that out before ordering here.
My wife who is going to get hip replacement surgery soon recently got food delivered from this establishment. She had three or four deliveries and was initially very pleased. However, this last experience was so overwhelmingly disgusting (and unsanitary) , we're never going back and I have to give this establishment a "one" star rating.
Today my wife ordered a salmon salad for lunch. There were specific instruction to cook the salmon “well done.” The salmon was delivered raw, contaminating the whole salad so she couldn’t salvage any any of it.
The owner/manager’s response was to tell her to stick it in the microwave for a second or two. After my wife pushed back, she was told it could be remade if she could come pick it up. She said she couldn't and no offer for a refund was made.
My wife had to turn around and re-order from Country Biscuit for delivery. She's probably eaten there well over a hundred times and never had any issues with undercooked/raw meat. Go to Country Biscuit and not this establishment.
Later in the day when I called and spoke to the owner/manager to express my concern with my wife’s service, he seemed indifferent to the complaint. I think he only partially understood how egregious serving raw fish was once I made the analogy of how Gordon Ramsey deals with this stuff, as he eventually only gave a...
