The shrimp here is very good. We got the hibachi shrimp and steak combo. However there are a few things that need to be worked on for me to come back. Keep in mind that this play just opened. I appreciate feedback for my business and so I'm going to be honest in this review. Firstly they have done a great job with the quick remodel of Golden Corral. A lot of the elements are the same but hey videos to them right. But this isn't why I'm giving it two stars. I ordered Green tea (hot). She asked if I wanted sweet and low with it and I asked for sugar instead. She comes back with it and hands me Splenda. Apparently they didn't have sugar. Okay I'll drink it with out. The tea was room temperature at best. Literally. So I asked for it to be heated a little more. Literally 5-10 mins later I get the tea back and it's about 5 degrees warmer. She asked if I wanted to heat it more and I told I would live. Now onto the food. I got the clear soup. It tasted kinda funky but I ate it any way which I think I'm regretting. Anyway the salad portions for dinner were laughable. It was very small. On to the main course. When I think of hibachi I think of food you can eat without a knife. The rice had egg in it and was whiter than the founder of the kkk. It wasn't fried rice and I don't know who lied to them. Come on dudes get it together. The vegetables were really good. The onions were a tad under cooked so you still got the raw taste in them. But the problem with them was that the sauce was so runny that it over run the plate and it was like thin strips so you couldn't really get it on the fork without using a finger. On to the steak. The steak we ordered medium and medium rare. They both were well done. It wasn't cooked like hibachi steak however. It was dry and if it weren't for the sauce from the veggies it would have just been hard to swallow. The flavor was great but not for a hibachi restaurant. The pepper they used was fresh and over powered just about everything about the steak. The shrimp was really good when it wasn't just plain burnt. The biggest disappointment here isn't the $43 for over cooked steak and cold tea, but it's the fact that the sauce has a unique sweetness to it that was really good. It's a shame to let everything else fall apart in the meal because of simple solutions. Hopefully this place finds its rhythm and delivers a better product...
Read moreMy wife and I came out for our anniversary, wait staff seated us promptly and in a quiet corner of the very large floor. They are still limiting seating for covid precautions as several tables had warning signs reminding people to sit six feet apart and the sushi bar seating was closed down. A shame because that was what we came to order.
In my experience, sushi is pretty much delicious no matter where you go. Hell, I even enjoy store bought sushi, but there's something to be said for the chef making the Nigiri right in front of you and setting it in your hand for you to pop into your mouth.
That said, the Nigri and rolls we ordered were delicious. And though I've decided I'm not a huge fan of Squid Nigiri that doesn't take away from the rest of the plate which was fabulous!
My only qualms with the restaurant itself, and the reason I've given four stars as opposed to five, are the somewhat limited amount of communication from our waitress.
After we ordered, our plate came out within a reasonable amount of time but our Empire Roll was not with it. We went back and forth trying to remember both what we had ordered and if anything was in fact missing. Our questions were answered when our waitress returned some time later with the Empire Roll.
This confusion could have been avoided if she had just told us that it would be a couple minutes before it was ready.
Sushi prices can vary dramatically from one place to the next and this was VERY reasonably priced. We ordered an appetizer, three regular rolls, two specialty rolls, one Nigiri (which is two pieces), and dessert. At other places we've been this would have been over one hundred dollars-before tip. So we were pleasantly surprised when our bill was delivered and our total was under seventy dollars.
All told, I will be returning. Of that, there is no doubt. However, in the future I plan to steer away from the squid and I hope to sit at the sushi bar on...
Read moreLet me start by saying the food is delicious, however the service is absolutely horrible. We waited about 20min before the waitress even showed up to our table to take our drink order. By this time we already knew what we wanted, so we also placed our food order. We spent 45min waiting on food. During this time, 3 other tables that had came in behind us had already gotten their food and refills. Our entire table (2 adults and 2 kids) were out of drinks and our waitress had yet to come by and check on us. The waitress finally came out and brought 3 plates, grabbed my husband's cup and refilled it. Our youngest still had NOT received her food. Waitress finally comes back and says "her food was given to another table, so they are having to remake it". We of course are not going to sit here and eat in front of her. So we wait another 30min. She still hasn't received her food and once again, no refills. My husband ended up getting up and taking our cups up to the desk and asking if someone could refill them. Took 3 people to finally say "yes, I can refill them". Once again, our waitress is nowhere in sight. We finally got up, asked for boxes and the check. As we are putting our food away she finally walks up with our daughters food, walks away and another waitress brings us our check. $112 check and a 2 hour wait and not a single person said "sorry about all of this" or even bothered to come back to our table to check on us. Our waitress was on the other side of the restaurant folding napkins.
The restaurant was NOT busy. To have numerous waiters look right at us and see that we aren't being helped and don't even ask if everything is okay is absolutely ridiculous.
The food is great and it's ashame that your customer service is...
