Fantastic!!! Undoubtedly the best pizza in New Bern. Seriously...my kids split a cheese and pepperoni and they ate the whole thing, including the crust...which never happens. My wife had the Hawaiian, she also ate all of it. I had pepperoni and bacon, and honestly the only possible critique I could give would be that their was too much bacon. A lighter sprinkling of bacon would have been just fine. But I mean c'mon is that even a critique? Like, who says, "oh I got too much bacon here..." Anyways, the staff was very polite and attentive. The prices are absolutely reasonable. We had three pies, two baskets of fries, and four drinks and our bill was $38. Google be damned this place deserves ten stars!!

If you are visiting for the pizza, you are in the right place! Excellent crust, sauce was tasty and proportional. We got a medium which we thought was a good size. We were very happy with the pizza and service. The ambiance isn't amazing, but is utilitarian- serves its purpose, a place to consume pizza. I have no complaints. Don't come here if you are looking for the Ritz. My only complaint is that they should not have served the caprese today. The tomatos were not tasty, the basil was wilted and overall it wasn't a fresh salad. My fault, it's winter and I shouldn't have ordered it...Their fault for letting it out of the kitchen. I live about 30 mins away. I WILL be back for the pizza.

My son wanted pizza. So I searched and I found this restaurant a short walk from our river front hotel. He is used to your typical pizza place and I wasn't hoping he would like this place. Now it is small so seating is limited but that adds charm to the place. But even though there were people waiting the waitress never rushed us. There are also a few outside tables. My son ordered a bacon pizza and fries covered in mozzarella and bacon. They were both so good. My son so enjoyed his meal. He kept saying how delicious everything was. We will definitely return when in the area.

First off — we usually love the food at Savage's. We only started eating here about 8 months ago — the food is usually fantastic and portion sizes are huge. The owners are kind and friendly. We've even called on a Monday unaware they were closed and just happened to catch the owner there and he fed us anyway. The issue we have is with the front of house staff. Our first visit was dine-in and our waitress got our pizza entirely wrong after we'd repeated it numerous times... it was fixed and ended up being delicious. Since then we like to order a pasta special the owner told us about on our 2nd visit 2 pastas, side salad & bread for $20.99

I've given this place a few opportunities to disappoint me and again tonight not even close! They told me 20 minutes for my pizza, I had to wait a little bit which was fine because I got to crack a local beer at their small bar and wait for my fresh pizza. While there enjoy the scenery of a local pizzaria/restaurant and the way it should be operating on a busy Saturday night. Management was involved, people were being sat and seemed to know one another, food smelled great and conversation was flowing. Shortly after that my pizza came out, the manager/owner like they have done in the past asked me to inspect the pizza before I left to ensure it was up to par and once again, more than up to par! They are more than generous with their toppings which always seem fresh and high quality. Also the sauce is a great mix between bitter and sweet, very well seasoned and the crust and a nice mix between crunchy and soft which can be difficult to find with a wood burning style pizza. Once again phenomenal, if your touring through New Bern or your a local and you're not getting your pizza and supporting this very professional eatery you're missing out! Being from New York and working in the pizza business most my adult life I'd have to this place has been a gem to find down here in NC. I would Highly recommend to my family...

Went to Savage's to try a place different from our regular spot- will NEVER be back. Atmosphere was like a low-rent "country cookin'" type of place. Plastic goblets for wine, plastic plates, conference center style chairs from the 90s, etc. Okay, we thought, maybe the food and service is really good. Ordered drinks, wings, pizza. Wine was bleh, wings were okay. The service was horrible. One young waitress running her feet off trying to take care of all of the tables (maybe 4-5). One young waitress with an attitude not appearing to do much. My mom had to flag her down to ask for refills, the waitress with the attitude acted like she was doing us a favor. Left the empty/ dirty cups on our table. The owner was in and out of the kitchen in flip flops, violating health code. We finally told them we would pay for what we consumed and go elsewhere. When the owner asked us how everything was, we told her briefly, paid, and left. She followed us into the parking lot to get more information and then argued with us! Said the reason she was wearing flip flops was because she was menopausal and it is hard to "get good help". Overall, horrible experience and will...
