Our anniversary dinner at Iron Horse was a truly disappointing experience. While we understood they were understaffed and our waitress was clearly overwhelmed managing a large party, the experience went downhill quickly. My husband ordered the chicken fried chicken, but when our food arrived, the waitress mistakenly called it chicken fried steak and then joked that they all looked the same to her. We corrected her, but things got worse when my grilled chicken finally arrived, and my husband cut into his "chicken fried chicken" to find it was indeed chicken fried steak.
We tried to get our waitress's attention, but she had already left the room, and we weren't checked on for what felt like an eternity. My husband was hungry, so he reluctantly ate the incorrect dish rather than wait an indefinite amount of time for the right order. When our waitress finally returned, we brought up the mistake. She claimed she had even double-checked our order and went to speak with the manager about it.
To our dismay, the waitress returned to inform us that the manager refused to do anything because we hadn't said something immediately. Not only did the manager not bother to speak with us directly, but they also penalized us for their kitchen's error and the slow service that prevented us from addressing it sooner. While the food itself was okay, the dismissive attitude of the management and the significant error with our order completely soured our special occasion. We still tipped our hardworking waitress, as the fault clearly wasn't hers, but we definitely won't be returning to Iron Horse. It's a shame the manager's poor handling of the situation overshadowed what could have been a pleasant celebration...
Read moreAfter being seated by the server, who happened to be the manager, I was told, I waited ten minutes for an ice tea. Then after waiting a good bit of time, my order was finally taken, all by the same blonde woman who was my server/manager. The food took over 25 minutes to be brought out. During that time, my iced tea needed to be refilled, and my server was no where to be found. I finally saw her standing behind the bar, texting on her phone. I couldnât get her attention. The other two servers were standing near the cash register, talking, smiling, and showing each other their phones, at no time did any employee ever even look at the five tables of customers. My food finally arrived, the bacon cheeseburger was horribly overcooked, my fries were not even warm and I couldnât even get the attention of my server once again. My server/manager finally came by, I explained the issue with my food, she said she was busy contacting the owner to tell him what drinks they were out of and would not address the issue with my lunch, which I had waited for 45 minutes at this point, only to be served absolute crap. Since she would not resolve the problem, I left hungry and it will be close to never when I return here. Iâve eaten here for more than ten years, since the latest owner has taken over the quality of the food has fluctuated due to the bad service of his Gen Z staff. They are completely clueless and will cost this man his business because they are more interested in their phones and socializing with other staff members, getting hot, fresh food to their customers isnât even a thought here. Stay away from Iron Horse. The huge cost of eating here isnât...

The sweet potato fries were cooked perfectly but the regular fries were soggy & seemed greasy but also as if theyâd been under a heat lamp. The building & decor is really cute & unique, they have Al fresco dining & outdoor entertainment, however, there were instances where improvements can be made: it took about 20-30 minutes to receive our order, despite the fact that they werenât busy at all, plus, our server was not the best. She couldnât confidently answer questions about certain items, she never gave us updates on our order, didnât check on us after we received our order to make sure everything was correct & cooked to our expectations. She literally only checked on us once before getting our order & once after weâd finished. She didnât ask if we needed refills or extra napkins. When we got the bill, we were shocked that our total was over $50 for 2 burgers & fries. She didnât even go over our order before asking for payment to make sure it was correct. I asked for a receipt & we found she actually added a $10 appetizer which we never ordered. It was corrected but she had an attitude & a snarky, passive aggressive demeanor regarding her mistake, there was no need for a snarky attitude. To top it off, a 20% tip was added, we didnât add a 20% tip. We know mistakes happen but if we visit again, weâll be sure to go over the order before payment...
