Update, response to the owner feedback below* I understand about prepping for a large event, and this is not about how I was inconvenienced coming in during said prepping. It is about treating customers with respect and key communication through multiple sources, online and in person. Before heading to the store I checked FB and the website to make sure I was fully informed on policies and times. I do not use Instagram, so cannot comment on that source. When I entered the store, I was told about the event, the no taking sales for the weekend, the container policy for bringing in items, and told that those things had been shared online. However, key details were not online, or shared within 24 hours of being put into play. The notice that the store would not be buying anything in preparation for the event was posted the day before on the Facebook page. Multiple posts about the upcoming event and everything surrounding it, but nothing about not accepting sales. It was posted the day before the start date. I had checked the Facebook page and the website on Wednesday, the post about not taking in items to sell was posted Thursday, with the non buying days listed as Friday- Sunday. Hence why I missed the message, I checked the FB page too early, and their website has no information about changes at all.
Poor communication.
This review is about using their consignment services, not shopping in the store.
I cannot rate the store on the selling process as I was turned away upon entering. I had spent time scouring the website and their FB page for location hours, and info on bringing in items to sell. The store was a 50 minute drive away, and when I arrived on a day and time they were supposed to be open for sales, they were not buying items because they were prepping for an anniversary sale. This information was not listed on the FB page or the website when I had searched the store out prior to making the trip. I was also told they only accept reusable bags or plastic totes to carry items for sale in, and my items were neatly placed into well made paper bags. Again, not mentioned on the website, or if it was, not easily found.
I understand this is a chain store and each is individually owned and owners make rules that work for their particular store, however communication with these stores is always very bad. In hindsight, calling during their store hours would have saved me a wasted trip, but my experience with this brand chain has been that even with calling the stores, the particular details change often.
I will give the store a second chance at a later date, even with the travel distance. In the meantime I encourage the owner and team to improve on communication to the potential shoppers and consigners who are choosing to shop and sell with local stores, many who travel a distance because of the uniqueness of this...
Read moreThe purpose of today's visit was to sell, so I'll start there. After reading all the reviews on the horrible selling experiences, I went prepared knowing they wouldn't buy much, and also understanding it may take longer than what I'll be told.
MY experience as a seller was great. I have no complaints at all. I arrived at 10am, I did have 4 reusable bags, and the policy is to accept (2) so my wait time was longer due to the fact that they had to separate my bags. (So basically I was a client twice today)
I also was told if you have designer handbag, there is a specific person that can authentic it, so please be beware of that. If she isn't there, the wait will be longer IF you choose to still sell the designer bag(s)
Now, I can say, they picked out 6 items, and she explained that I had great things but the store was overfilled with similar items, so try again later. My take home was $36 if I'm remembering correctly, and that paid for a pair of new looking jeans my daughter found, a jean jacket, and a few pairs of earrings. (School shopping, yayyyy)
They are having an awesome sale right now which is helping the store "clear out" and also, from my first few visits, the store has had an EXTREMELY new cleaner look.
The communication was great within the selling process, I received ALL messages from the store and also the discount reader.
Prior to selling with them, I've stopped in periodically mainly for my teen girls. I have never had a bad experience so I wanted to stop and take time to say, all in all, this is a great place to shop. Prices are excellent and most of the clothing are in 10/10 perfect new new new condition. So based on my 6+ trips here, I'm...
Read moreI was curious to see how style encore would respond especially since I really do enjoy shopping there. But unfortunately totally missed the opportunity to grow and be better .professionalism was missing and at the very least an apology which was a slim chance after reading the responses of the other unhappy reviews dealing with the same issues. Yall are right i was not there for a hour which you so graciously posted the time stamps for but in my review, I clearly stated about an hour and the timestamp you provided was 55 minutes which is a funny thing to try and prove a point over? There is absolutely no reason I should HAVE to come to the counter 3 times if yall where communicating with me and yall did not come get me to say my buy was ready I had to come to the front again without trying to “rush” as to be polite . All of which was after waiting at least 30 mins which the lady in the front quoted to give some “grace” as I do understand people training( which it seemed like the young man was) I was not rude in my review or even to the workers but wanted to inform others of what it’s like selling to style encore. My impression after seeing the reviews I knew a “email” or “call” to manager would make no difference. Again I’m not trying to be rude or come off a certain way this review was purely just to inform others of my selling experience, I do respect the small business community but this just isn’t how you treat others. I am however happy to see that others can see exactly how style encore...
