Naegelin’s German Bakery absolutely exceeded our expectations for our wedding cake! From start to finish, they were a joy to work with, and the final result was simply perfect. We had a gorgeous two-tier chocolate cake with chocolate mousse filling and classic buttercream frosting, along with 24 gluten-free cupcakes for our gluten-sensitive guests. Everything was rich, flavorful, and beautifully executed—our guests couldn’t get enough! Tammy was especially wonderful to work with. She was incredibly attentive to my sister’s vision for the day and made it come to life, even though we didn’t have a strict design plan for my sister's celestial/boho theme. I shared one vision board to give her some ideas, and she was able to run with it. She struck the perfect balance—not too busy, not too plain—just elegant and timeless. We opted for delivery and professional setup, and it was 100% worth it. They even added flowers from our florist, making the cake look absolutely stunning. Multiple guests commented on how beautiful it was, and unlike so many weddings where cake goes uneaten, our guests devoured every last bite! Not only was the cake delicious, but we also deeply appreciated the gluten-free options. It meant so much to have something for everyone, and our guests were grateful for that extra touch. We absolutely recommend Naeglin’s German Bakery! They’ve been serving the area since 1868, and you can tell—they know exactly what they’re doing. If you’re looking for a bakery that delivers both exceptional taste and flawless presentation, look no further.

The historic bakery is situated in the middle of New Braunfels' downtown. It's been around for well over 100 years. The staff here is wonderful. They're very friendly, efficient, and helpful. If you're looking for something special, they can make it happen. The number of different pastries that are available is pretty amazing. It seemed like that had everything imaginable: Cakes, pie pies, cupcakes, cookies, donuts, turnovers, cinnamon rolls, bear claws, muffins, strudels...you get the picture. The cakes and the pies looked the most delicious. Unfortunately, I didn't have any of those. None of the pastries looked particularly good. I can't explain it but they just looked flat. They tasted that way too. Too dense for my liking, not flaky or fluffy. I was disappointed and surprised. The coffee was good. There are small picnic tables in front of the bakery and on the side of the building. It's very cozy. There was plenty of parking on the street and a smaller parking lot next to the bakery. There's also a drive-thru where you can pick up your orders on the run. I'm glad I visited saw this historic bakery. I don't think I'll be back for pastries again. I would like to try one of the cakes, pie, or macaroons if I ever come back.

As mother of the groom, I trusted Naeglins with a very elaborate Texas cowboy-themed cake for our rehearsal dinner at the Gristmill in New Braunfels. I did some shopping around providers and Naeglin's price was completely competitive. Based on Naeglin's reputation and reasonable cost estimate, I chose them for this important occasion. The communication from Tammy and Alexis was amazing during the order process, and on 'production' day Tammy continuously checked with me to verify my expectations down to the final detail. It was apparent that she wanted the cake to be as unique and special as I did. At the rehearsal dinner itself, I received so many comments in praise of both the decor and TASTE of the cake, which was chocolate/banana on the bottom layer and lemon/rasberry on the top layer. Decadently delicious. You can absolutely trust Tammy, Alexis and Naeglins to come through for your special occasion bakery orders. Thank you, Naeglins! I will follow up with a photo when we receive our professional photography.

***MILITARY DISCOUNT*** From the outside it looks like your average bakery! Don't let looks deceive you! Go in, smell the smells, order tons because you will be disappointed in yourself if you don't. I visited mid-afternoon 3 days in a row and I missed out on several of their Specialties because they are that Popular with the locals and people visiting from out of town. The doughnut Breakfast sandwich was phenomenal. The oldest recipe was the bear claw. You will not be disappointed! They have a drive-thru if you just don't want to stand in line. I would recommend going in if it is your first time. Seating in the back alley and out front. Small table inside but people rolling in and out would make it not a very likable experience. Noticed that people placed orders ahead of time and came in through the back for a quick pick up! I will try that next time.

I placed a custom order of the bakeries smiley face cookies almost two weeks before my sons birthday. I needed them all to be one color and with black smiley faces. What I received was a huge disappointment. The color was correct but the smiley faces were all wrong. It looked like whoever did them didn’t care what they looked like. I mean they didn’t even look like the smiley face cookies they sell everyday. When I brought this to their attention on picked all that was offered was a refund and to just have the cookies. I was willing to wait and get them later or even they could the cookies from their multi packs they sell and those would have been better. The taste was off as well. Just a huge let down overall especially for someone who grew up here my entire life and have enjoyed these cookies over the years.

The cake they made for my wedding was perfection and didn’t break the bank. They worked with my budget and even added special touches that I didn’t originally think of. Plus the cake was tasty, not too sweet and delicate. The raspberry filling it was divine. Thanks guys for being an awesome part of my wedding day.
