I had a challenging experience at the tube chute, and I feel it's important to share my concerns for the sake of safety and improvement. My group of three entered the chute separately, but I noticed many people were tied together, which I believe contributed to some safety issues. Unfortunately, I lost track of my partner while navigating the chute, and we became stuck against the wall alongside a group of seven people tied together.
As we exited, I fell out of my tube, became separated from my son, and struggled to get back above water amidst the heavy congestion of tubers. It was a frightening experience, and when I finally managed to surface, I found myself without my family, my rented tubes, and my belongings.
I sought assistance from the lifeguards on duty, but I felt they were not as vigilant as needed. They appeared to be more focused on enjoying their time rather than actively monitoring the situation and providing help. I genuinely believe that with a little more attention and communication, they could have made a significant difference.
Fortunately, the parks and recreation rangers in the area were incredibly helpful. They provided me with water and assisted in helping me retrieve my lost items and reconnect with my family. As a retired lifeguard myself, I understand the importance of effective supervision and response in these environments. I hope that sharing my experience can encourage enhanced training and awareness for lifeguards in the future to ensure the safety of...
Read moreDo not recommend this place unless you want to be ripped off, swim in dirty water or get High .to start they DO NOT have any signs or proper rules on this river . They DO NOT allow you to use any float bigger then 5ft , no drinks , no coolers on the river, nothing expect you and your tube . They will charge $35 for a rental tube plus $2 to get in on top of the $20 to park only to be on a dirty river filled with so many people smoking weed since the place does not allow alcohol . The chute area is very dangerous and when you flip over the life guards do not care to help “ it’s normal to them for people to flip over the tubes and almost drown “ My friend was trapped under her tube for awhile until she hit the wall and no one jumped to help . The river is about 3 hours long and when you finally arrive to the exit they have employees who are so rude screaming at people “ Move it , get out fast , stop taking your time and basically pushing as if this wasn’t expensive enough and stressful and now employees screaming at us like inmates . Will never return to this dirty place. Do...
Read moreI came to this tube Chute many years ago when I was a teenager.... honestly I don't think it's changed much at all. I would like to see them make a few changes. After going through the Chute if you want to get out and do it again it can be really hard to get over to the opposite side and up stairs. If you miss the stairs you have to go way down and walk back. The first set of stairs are rusted metal and are all beat up so be sure to watch your step there. It's fun and doesn't cost a lot per person to go through it but to get your money's worth you would have to go through it several times. Last time we went to the Chute my youngest daughter and I got stuck in the vortex between the dam and where the Chute comes out. It is really difficult to get out of that area because the water just swirls around there. They had two lifeguards that sat there and watched us struggle.... they in no way helped us at all. I guess if you're floating the river and you do the tube Chute and keep going down the river it would be a...
