The tea and shakes MIGHT be good but the manager is unfriendly, rude and a bit shady.
A friend who volunteers for an animal shelter placed a custom-made donation can, with the owner's approval, on their counter. Many weeks later, when my friend returned to collect the donations, the can had been relocated to a far, out of the way spot with it's custom-made lid missing and only three pennies inside. When my friend politely asked what happened, the rude manager responded defensively by saying"oh ...I take" (inferring sarcastically that she had taken the money). My friend, very politely, explained that he wasn't accusing her but she held steadfast to her defensive posture repeating "I take" over and over. Perceiving a language barrier (on the mansger's part) my friend decided to take the can and leave. When he asked if they had the custom-made lid for the can, the manager replied "there wasn't one". Hmmmm... My friend left, taking the lidless can and three pennies with him.
One would think that a local business in a small, dog-friendly town would be a bit smarter about their public relations. Apparently common sense isn't so common.
Their teas and shakes MIGHT be great, but I won't ever know because I refuse to patronize this establishment after hearing of my friend's experience with them. Besides being rude to him, they seem to be completely indifferent to the fact that the donations were intended to support a worthwhile, volunteer-run animal rescue organization... and it's this latter point that bothers me...
Read moreMade a quick stopover for boba tea and the fresh fruits used here in this place caught my attention.
I had grapefruit fresh fruit tea with crystal boba and I tell you, it was not what I received.
I donât know what boba world these guys live in but what I had is most certainly not boba made from tapioca. What they called crystal boba is really more like crystal jelly.
The girl who made my drink took what I imagined was fresh grapefruit juice from the fridge, added tea and syrup to it and thatâs about it. You know, a slice of grapefruit would have been nice.
On top of everything else, this is by far the most expensive boba drink Iâve ever had in my lifetime. $9.15 is what I paid. $9.15!
For paying so much for a drink that is nowhere close to what a boba drink is, I am disgusted and upset.
To the owner of this place, please donât advertise your products as boba when itâs nowhere close to that. Boba is made of tapioca starch and your boba is my best guess, sugar, water and agar agar. If it wasnât for the fact that Iâm too far away to return my drink, I would have 100% returned and get my money back. This is false advertising.
For boba lovers, you have been warned. Stay far away...
Read moreTo the person that left a 2 star review. Migoto Boba Is one of the only boba shops in United state that only uses real fruits to make fruit tea drinks and only uses organic cane sugar. Itâs unfortunate that someone in our town would leave such a review and not have all of the facts.
The owner actually created all recipes herself over months of practice and makes all her own purées. What may look like artificial is actually pre prepped fruits she does herself. Many Boba shops also use powders in traditional drinks and she went to the extent of having a chef help her craft the same flavor without powders. The costs of these drinks are for that very reason.
And although I could comment on Starbucks, I will not. These are very different businesses with different value propositions.
What disappoints me the most is leaving a review without the proper information knowing it could damage a local business owner thatâs just starting up. Next time, please do...
