Cherry Street East — Restaurant in New Canaan

The food was good here, the burgers were excellent. I'm giving it one star because of the pathetic excuses of workers who seem to crawl around there. I had a gentleman wait on me, tall bald man, who didn't hesitate twice to make a pass at me every chance he could. He bought me two free drinks, which was kind but I felt very uncomfortable, because I am a young lady and he wasn't young. When I was discussing the bill with my friend, the waiter came and took the card. We said to him we were not done, that we wanted to find out what we should pay for, but he said "no. You guys look like friends. She can give you money". So he automatically we had money, which we don't, so when he did that my card overdrew. I asked him to fix it, he said no. So I tipped him less than gererously for his rude act of bull, and he chased my friend and I out of the restaurant to our car. I was scared and concerned for this mans mental health and wellness to serve other customers. I am afraid to return to this...

This bar is supreme. It is affordable, comfortable and genuine. It's like the Town of New Canaan's family dining room. Everyone receives what they ask for, everyone is always treated right and no one is a stranger. And please stop calling here and asking if they take reservations, it is first come first serve, the seats fill up every time - you want a seat, you'll have to get here first and earn it. And you will be rewarded each time. The servers are friendly and hard-working and the bar tenders are attentive, true and trusty. Dan will provide you a well stocked, orderly bar; Mark is your Commander-in-Chief of harmony and good spirits, and then there is Nikita; oh Nikita he will push you to your highest potential, whether you know it or not. Cherry Street East may be my favorite restaurant based upon price. The first time I ordered at Cherry Street I was surprised 😯 to find my receipt was less than $9.00 for a grilled cheese sandwich, French fries and a coke including tax. Great 👍 prices for wonderful food at this cosy New Canaan hangout. It’s an amazing restaurant 😉 with a large menu, good food and excellent service served with a smile in a unique old home.
