Pizza Empire — Restaurant in New Haven

ive been ordering from empire for years and never truly had a problem with them UNTILL today. the fact that one they gave my doordash driver the wrong food and when i called to let them know they state that i need to complain to doordash. i handle it through doordash to call them back and reorder so that my order would come quicker since im not too far, they take another hour. they block my number in this time frame so i called to see where my food is from my job phone for the "manger" to tell me that the food is coming 5 mins away just for me to call back and explain how my food is still not here. mind you i only ordered a salad. so i asked for the inconvenience can i get a discount on my food. this man tells me no hes not because hes in his time frame and that my first order was through door dash and not his issue. so i explain i dont think i should have to pay for my food if the driver is going to take longer then excepted. we started a yelling battle and i hung up. i call back to find my number is blocked again. i call from another number for the manger to tell me hes canceling my order and i waisted his time. SIR YOU WAISTED MY TIME FOR 2 HOURS. NO SIMPITHY. i wish this place was ran better because WOOW. you could of turned this situation around. i would of paid no matter how angry i am but to have to pay full price and not even get nothing after waiting for so long is ridiculous. i wish i could speak to the owner maybe he would of listened...

I ordered a simple garden salad and cheese calzone for my girlfriend and me. It was a Wednesday night around midnight, so they couldn't have been overly busy. It took about 30 minutes to deliver, which was fine and right where they said it would be. We paid the driver and took our food. After the driver left and we went to eat, we noticed the calzone had some kind of meat in it. I called back and tried to explain the situation, but he really didn't seem to care or understand. So eventually I got them to deliver a new calzone. It took them an hour and 15 minute to deliver the replacement calzone. Including me calling and asking where it was, and the guy telling me it would only be a few minutes, it was still another 15. When it was delivered, the driver wanted me to pay him. I tried explaining that it was a replacement for the one they had screwed up, but he didn't understand. So I just told him I wasn't paying for another one, and he left. I then received a call from them in which he threatened to call the police on me for not paying for the second calzone. I tried, again, to explain the situation, but they still didn't understand. And, to top it all off, after I got home, I got very stomach sick and had a bad case of diarrhea.

DO NOT BUY FROM THEM UNLESS YOU WANT YOUR ORDER SCREWED UP, YOU WANT TO BE THREATENED, AND YOU...

We were staying at the hotel next door and decided to grab a slice even though the ratings are extremely low. We ordered 2 slices and 3 bottles of water. While waiting for the slices they were preparing other orders. I watched the worker drop half an order of grilled chicken breast on the ground pick it up with his barehand and put it back on the grill. Then add the floor chicken to a grilled chicken sandwhich. We then questioned what he just did and he tried to say he didn't do that. Then we asked for our money back, and without hesitation the employee who had just plated floor chicken gave us our money back. But before we could leave another guy came from the back and tried to tell us it doesn't matter that the floor chicken was for him so if wants he can do it. I then asked why would he put it in a to go container and he said no he didn't he put the chicken in the garbage. I would definitely avoid this establishment unless you like eating...
