Urban Outfitters — Local services in New Haven

The store itself has a great atmosphere and is very inviting; however, I did not get that same vibe from a specific employee, Marissa. She came off very aggressive and unwelcoming. Instead of kindly asking me to leave (because she felt that since my friend worked there I was there only to chat with my friend, although I was actually shopping as well) she told my friend to tell me to leave. I felt so offended that she could not just come up to me and simply either ask and see if my intentions were to just socialize with my friend or to politely ask me to leave because she doesn't want my friend to get into trouble. As I was finishing up in the fitting room, I was about to leave the store when I seen my friend. She had just finished talking to Marissa but I seen that Marissa's face looked angry. As she walked by me, I smiled at her but she kept the same angry face on, so I asked my friend what she said. She then told me that Marissa told her to tell me to leave. While leaving, I decided to ask Marissa if she wanted me to leave and tell her how I was offended that she couldn't speak to me directly. She got a snarky attitude and said that my friend wasn't allowed to talk during her shift. I understood where she was coming from, but I was not only there for my friend. I was also browsing as a customer and was trying to convey that to her, but she seemed to have too much of a nasty attitude to hear where I was coming from. Went in to the store at 6:30pm. Approximately 30 minutes before closing . I had to return and item and wanted to do some quick shopping on the second floor. After looking around and picking a few items to purchase the employee that was folding items informed me I had 2 minutes to look because the store was closed, It was literally 6:50pm not 7pm , not even a minute later the employee turns to me and says we have to hurry Up because the store is closing. the way it was said was rude and offensive. I literally was done shopping and was looking for my size before going back down stairs. I get that the store is closing but there’s better ways of communicating with customers and you could have even assisted us in finding what we needed instead of watching the clock . Coming here is a hit or miss for me. I’ve come here straight from work one afternoon, business/casually dressed and was profiled and followed. I ended up leaving without purchasing anything. I returned last week (although I shouldn’t have, but they have suchhhh cute sh!t) and, although there were a great selection of clothes, more size & length variations are needed. None of the associates were engaging or really asking if I needed help until I went into the dressing room to try on a dress and that is when I encountered Mark. Omg you are a star!
