NYC Study Abroad Student’s Lightning-Fast Half-Day Trip to New Haven (Tips Included)‼️

TASTE: I never had Pomelo before. It tastes like a lemon and orange had a sweeter fruit together. There was also watermelon in the tea which made it super refreshing. I love that you have the option to add on your personal choice of boba. The peach Fruit tea was just as refreshing and delicious. The lychee jelly gave it a little more of a kick SERVICE: The service was rapid and polite. You also have the option of ordering on a machine. Everything was done in a timely manner. CLEANLINESS: It was super clean and very well organized. AVAILABILITY: There is seating available and it was pretty clear when I arrived. ORDERED/PRICE: ● Pomelo Lemon Fruit Tea (5.95) w/Strawberry Popping Boba (0.75) ● Peach Fruit Tea (5.95) Lychee Jelly (0.75)

I've never been more disgusted with a milk tea than when I had the taro creme brulee milk tea at The Whale Tea in New Haven. I have had drinks here before and they were wonderful, works of art really. But this...this takes the cake; it was despicable. At first glance, it looked sculpted by the hands of the boba gods but once I tried it, BLEGH! Never ever in my life have I ever had such a revolting taste of curdled milk, soggy cookies, and crunchy boba in my mouth before. I paid a solid $8 dollars for this atrocity. RUN HIDE, NEVER COME HERE!!

CALL BEFORE YOU GO!!! I've been here three times. First time was when they opened and everything was great. Last two times I've been here they've been out of boba both times and was told there was a 45 min wait for the boba to be ready. I appreciate that the boba is fresh but the fact that a bubble tea place runs out of boba by 7 pm is dissapointing. The actual drinks are great and tasty but you don't go to a bubble tea place and not get the boba. They offer the other jellies or fruit boba but it's not the same. I had 10 of my friends meet me here only to be told they didn't have boba so we all went to Vivi and Ben &Jerry's instead....
