I have two, very well-trained, psychiatric service dogs to accompany me in high stress situations. My father-in-law, close friend and his 11 year old son walked up to the outside bar on Saturday afternoon. I explained to the bartender that they are both registered service animals and we ordered a round of drinks. The bartender gave me a stern warning. "If the dogs start barking you'll have to leave." I said they're trained not to, but occasionally when they see another dog walk by closely my one dog will bark once at most to indicate there's a dog. When I mussel her, she stops. She let one, low decibel bark out and I was told, "your dog is barking so you have to leave". I ignored the bartender's command and said, "she's not barking. She barked once." The bartender closed out my tab, and as it was clearly not busy he just waited for a chance to get in my face again. Once again, one dog walked by and my dog barely let out a sound before the irrate bartender demanded we leave. At that point, I told the bartender, "if you want me to leave you're going to have to call the police. These dogs are legally protected service animals and they have rights. We're sitting outside as a reasonable accommodation, and my dogs aren't bothering anyone so if you want us to leave you better call the police." Rather than embarrass myself any further, we left and I walked into John & Peter's Place and had a 5 star experience.

Nestled in a pocket of eastern Pennsylvania’s Bucks County, the riverside town of New Hope is as quaint as they come. With just 1.27 square miles of land area, New Hope’s primary industry is tourism. Year-round and especially on weekends, visitors clog the narrow sidewalks on Main Street, window-shopping or enjoying one of its numerous eateries. This was my first time back from an 11-year hiatus. My partner and I decided on a quick bite for lunch yesterday and chose Fran’s Pub, known as Biker Central in the spring/summer on South Main Street. It offered multiple distinct dining areas to match one’s mood, whether enjoying a family dinner on their semi-enclosed patio, playing pool in the pub bar, or people watching from the impressive large outdoor seating area with umbrellas or heaters. Greeted by the staff upon entering as first-timers, we sat in their semi-enclosed patio, whose doors that opened to the street had the nice warmth of the sun. With a five-page menu consisting of house-made or house-prepared dishes that cater to all appetites, we decided on a small Beef Vegetable soup (soup of the day), Hot Pastrami Pub sandwich, and Aioli Pesto Chicken sandwich. The sandwiches accompanied house-made Fried Potato Chips. Food was tasty and satisfied our stomachs. Service was fast, friendly, and our server was Melissa. Price was reasonable. We could recommend this place.

Fran's has plenty of outdoor seating well spaced apart. I did not enter the restaurant to see how the indoor seating was. Unfortunately, it took a VERY long time for our food to come. We were at the table for 45 minutes before eating. They must have been very short staffed for the service to be so slow at diminished capacity. If this is the norm, I would hate to think how long it would take to get our food when the place is filled to capacity. Also, the heating was a bit inadequate. I was comfortable enough keeping my coat on, but the food was ice cold before we were even half done eating. Food quality is standard bar fare. Fine for snacking. I did not try the pizzas, but from what I saw, they looked very good!

I'm giving this place 1 star because there is no lower rating. My family and I decided to stop and get something to eat here while doing some sight seeing in the area my 2 year old was with me and 3 other adults. My daughter has a speech delay and therefore gets frustrated and has a meltdown when she cannot express her needs. I have 2 therapist work with her weekly. While waiting for our food my daughter had a meltdown again due to her delay and a male staff member walked by without stopping and said as he walked toward the door "Can you take that outside we have other people dining here" and was out the door before any of us could even acknowledge what he just said. He was loud pand rude and seemed like his intention was to emabarass us. I was very upset and my aunt asked to speak with someone later identified as the owners son. After explaining what happened and how we felt very disrespected and that my daughter has a issue he responded with that's not his problem and proceeded to tell at her that if she was going to talk she should have her facts straight before talking to him. At which point I got involved and said back to him this is not how you handle any situation and you dont treat patrons like this ever. The way you are talking to my aunt is disgusting. He walked out no apologies and waved goodbye when told you dont walk away from a customer who is speaking with you. Very unprofessional, rude and no responsible adults there to handle situations like this all young kids with attitudes and no lessons in customer service. God forbid someone has an autistic child and brings them there to eat. If it's not a child friendly establishment then say so on your sign and dont have booster seats and high chairs and please note there was another child in there when we were there so it seems like children are welcome just not ones with disabilities or delays. I dont recommend eating her unless you want to be treated like trash. I spent $65.00 on 2 burgers a pizza and 3 drinks... you think somebody would have given us a break on some of the bill considering how we were treated but I paid it in full and still...

I have been coming to Fran's ever since I moved to the area 17 years ago. It's always been a favorite of our family. Stopped in today at lunch time with my daughter. It was not crowded at all. Ordered a salad and a wrap that never came out. The waiter, Jake, told us repeatedly it was coming and wouldn't be long. After waiting for nearly an hour, and having to return to work and the parking meter, I went to speak to the manager who was the rudest person I have ever met. I told her I couldn't wait any more and it was taking way too long. She said they were having trouble in the kitchen and to wait another minute. She then appeared with my check for $6.35 for my 2 beverages. Shocked, I said, you're not even comping the 2 sodas after wasting my entire lunch time? Her response: "Well I cancelled your food." She cancelled food they couldn't put on the table in an hour. No apologies, no "let me pack the food to go," which she didn't have because they could not get the salad and wrap out. Instead, I was handed a check for $6.35 for 2 sodas and told to "have a nice day." I have spent thousands at Fran's over the years, often taking family members and large parties to their restaurant. I have never met a manager that was so unprofessional and uncaring about the customers. I am still in shock that after wasting my entire lunch hour, she charged me for sodas. We stopped at another place since i was already late for work and they had my food ready in 5 minutes to go. I was a loyal customer and will NEVER set foot in there again. They clearly have some type of kitchen shortage and this manager has NO customer service skills whatsoever. I never write reviews but had to share...

Visit Date: September 4, 2023

New Hope, PA is one of my happy places. Since discovering it in 2021 with a guy I was seeing/turned friend after he ended things I've tried to get back here as much as possible. It's not a bad drive from Long Island. For some people a two to three hour drive is a bit much, but I drive a lot and I'm fine with the drive. So I went back on September 4 with a bunch of friends. I've been here with people and I've come alone. I like doing both.

Everyone picked Fran's Pub to eat in so once I parked my car in the usual lot I park in we walked over to the pub. It's an old school/local pub with a lot of seating.

I chose to have the BLT. I'm doing slightly better with money now, not great but a little better because I got money refunded for a flight that I cancelled. But during this time I wasn't sure about the flight refund and I was pretty much almost broke. Technically with the amount of debt I have I am pretty broke no matter what until I work to pay it down.

The BLT was good, a nice amount of bacon, lettuce, tomato and Mayo. I think the chips they served were homemade. They were amazing about letting us hang out at the pub for a few hours. There was a group of us so maybe because it was a sort of large order they didn't mind. My one friend didn't want to be outside much because it was brutally hot and my other friend has bad knees and doesn't want to walk around. So 3 out of 5 of us in the group stayed in the pub. My other friend and I walked out after leaving our share of money for what we ate to go to Terri's gifts because I like to stop there when I visit New Hope as well.

I would recommend this pub for a...
