I go to this Bob’s Sun location once almost every week. I’m usually ordering for pickup. This is my experience:
I call them when I’m ready to place my lunch order, usually between 11am and 1pm depending on the day. The staff member on the phone asks when I would like to pick up the subs. I usually tell them 20-30 minutes, though they have offered faster or longer before. They are very flexible. They are always very friendly and always read my order back to me to make sure they got everything and to clear up any questions. I’m usually ordering the same thing, I only have 2 sandwiches I usually switch between, and my father, who orders with me, always get exactly the same thing. When we arrive if there is no line they usually have my order waiting on the back counter, and I can check out with a tap of my card in under a minute. Very efficient, very friendly service, which is always much appreciated!
Next, the atmosphere is not my personal favorite; it has a college town sub shop feel (precisely what they are going for, so 10/10 on execution) but it just doesn’t really do it for me. That said, there are plenty of tables inside to dine in if you choose, and there is usually something sports related in the TV. So if you need somewhere to take a break for lunch, they have you covered. The dining area is always clean and tidy, even when they are very busy.
As for the sandwiches (which are my usual fare) they are likely the best sub shop for 5 miles in every direction (besides other bobs locations of course!). The sandwiches are made on Cellone’s sub rolls, which is one of my favorite breads. The toppings to bread ratio is always spot on, and the bread is hearty, so it doesn’t turn into a sopping wet mess right away like some places. If you are ordering takeout, I recommend getting the mayo/dressing on the side, it will help keep that bread fresh and dry. I’m pretty sure they make their Mayo and dressing in house, and they are very delicious! My go to subs are #2 Spicy Italian and #6 Classic ham and Turkey. Altogether, these subs will knock your socks off, and I recommend them...
Read moreBob's is the only place I get subs. They make their sandwiches with fresh Celone's bread and load them with their own sweet mayo and lettuce, onion, tomato (of course you can customize) and any extra veggies are free. My favorite subs are The Deli and the Chicken Salad sandwich. They come in 3 size's (freshman, junior, and senoir) but I think they should have a 4th (sophomore) because the smallest leaves you wanting more but the middle size it too filling (personally).
The restaurant it's self has a nice laid back atmosphere and they open the garage doors in the front in nice weather. The walls are covered in throwback pictures of college students from local schools in the 70s/80s. When you walk in you will notice the smell of homemade donuts, do yourself a favor and take some home. They are open at 7am for breakfast; the egg sandwiches are very filling and they serve delicious Zeke's coffee.
If you haven't yet, definitely stop in Bob's Sub, you'll ditch subway and...
Read moreMy first time trying Bob’s Sub I got to say we ordered two large Philly cheesesteaks it only took us 5 minutes from the job site to get there and our Philly cheesesteaks was hot and ready to go. All the employees were professional, and also greeted us as we came inside the door I enjoyed my Philly cheesesteak. It was really good. Don’t think I left not a crumb on the foil lol if you haven’t tried their hoagies, you might wanna stop and try one. I have moved this review to a four star. I tried out the spicy hot Italian hoagie and what I notice was I ended up eating more bread and vegetables than meat. I would prefer them to add a little more meat to the Italian hoagies, but other than that food...
