I was super excited to be able to visit this place finally. I have been wanting to go since she opened. Unfortunately, walking through the doors I was met with heat and not a pleasant welcome. My sister and dad was in there before me they informed me that we must place our orders at the counter which is not a problem. I ordered the Catfish Mardi Gras, the Big Fish Plate, a strawberry stuffed cheesecake slice and a bottle of water spent $70 and was handle plastic utensils a few napkins and what was supposed to be ketchup with looked more like hot sauce (idk bc my dad actually didn't need it). The Catfish Mardi Gras was good. I wasn't expecting it to come with grits but the menu stated that it came with rice. It would have been nice to be told that when ordering incase I didn't eat grits. My dad had the Big Fish Plate the mac and cheese he said was overly cheesy for his liking. The cheesecake slice was moist not bad. Overall the food was pretty decent. My issues is the customer service. I just believe that when spending money in an establishment and the owner is walking around that she would at least ask the tables how is everything. We got nothing at all. She walked passed us as if we were not even there. I had to get up and go to the counter to get togo plates when I walked up the young lady was on the phone. I respected that but not one time did she acknowledge that I was even right there. She could have some one moment I will be right with you but instead she just kept on with her conversation. Lucky for me the young lady that was bringing the food to the table walked by and I was able to get them from her. When leaving the owner was standing by our table talking and taking videos with her friends but couldn't even say thank you for coming I hope you come back. I really do want the best for her business and black owned businesses but not acknowledging patrons for your business can hurt your business. Not saying you have to stand there and talk to all of your customers but at least check on them to make sure everything is okay and ask they do not need anything.

Following Keith Lee. I visited early in the day. The lighting is dark. You can dine in, but I did not. It gave me a feel of a to go spot. The cashier was great. She was engaging, patient, and friendly, which created a great customer service experience for me. I haggled her and complained about the prices. Even told her it was "jealouceee" and she was a great sport about it. 😊😊 What I tried: $10 peach cobbler was a bit too sweet for me and didn't have enough juice, so it was stiff yet very tasty. It had a lot of crust, which is the only part I eat. It did have some sugar crystals baked on the crust, which I'm not a fan of, but it was only in a few bites. $10 bread pudding was moist and tasty, but also a bit too sweet for me. Both items are served in an 8oz bowl, which I felt was very small for $10. I would like to see it in a 10-oz container, but I get it. There's a hike in all prices. When groceries increase, everything has to follow. $12 strawberry stuffed cheese cake cake. This was very good, and I'm not a strawberry fan. It was moist, perfectly sweetened, and the cheese Cake had a crust, which I didn't expect. $8 small gumbo was surprisingly good. I have never had a good gumbo, so I usually don't try it, but I want to like the food of NOLA. It was highly recommended by a regular customer. I'm glad I tried it because I like it. I like it. 😁😁 After all the crying I did over the price, but it was a good food experience. The owner did come out. She didn't come out for me she was just making her rounds. She's a pleasant young lady, was all smiles and engaging. In Keith lee words I hope she continues to reach her target audience. She even took a picture with my Hunny Bee. 🫶🏾🫶🏾 Be sure to stop by. The sweets are all Good!

!!! 📢 If you don't have time for my story, just stop reading..... GO! Go grab your car keys, book that plane ticket, or hop on a train—whatever it takes to get yourself to B Sweet Bistro & Bakery in New Orleans! What started as a simple coffee run before my flight home, turned into an unforgettable feast that filled not just my stomach, but my spirit! Y'ALL... everything I ate was simply amazing! The gumbo was a revelation—packed with sausage, crab, chicken, and shrimp, and kissed with a pop of green onions that made every bite sing. The catfish? Huge, crispy, FRESH, and absolutely perfect. And those seafood beignets? OMG! An explosion of flavor, stuffed with crab meat and topped with a sauce that felt like a love letter from the kitchen. I know great food. I promise you this IS it! But beyond the incredible food, there was something even more special: the warmth and kindness of Ms. Brittney, who went above and beyond in a way that I’ll always cherish. We didn’t just exchange pleasantries—we had a conversation that felt divinely timed, like something ordained. She truly understood the assignment, delivering not just a meal, but an experience that restored my love for New Orleans and reminded me of the beauty in intentional care. P.s. I brought some red beans and rice home for my mother, and after tasting them, she asked me (and I quote) "...when are you going back to get some more!" P.p.s. The ONLY thing B Sweet could, would, or possibly should do different..... get us Georgia Boys some Red Hot hot sauce to go on top of that Catfish. Lol.🤣 Honestly though, the fish is so dang-on good and fried so dawg-on well, I really don't even care! 💪🏾💯

Pros: food is good Cons: Service sucks! Here's what you need to know bc it's not posted anywhere and the servers/cashiers don't tell you! Even though someone will sit you, give you a menu all the normal typical restaurant things, you have to get up and go to the counter to place your order. We sat there for quite sometime just waiting for someone to take our orders. We called the worker there over to our table and he takes our order. Which was fine but then he returned to the counter never taking the order for remaining ladies in our party at their table, directly next to us nor another party that was near us either. It wasn't until a couple who had been there that we learned that you have to go to the counter to order. Once we learn this there is a party of 15 placing their orders at the counter. (It seems they knew the process but we didn't) So we speak with one of the other workers and he offers to take our other party order and writes it down to be fulfilled. Issue resolved right, No! Bc and HERE'S THE OTHER THING, you have to pay for your food before they make it. This guy never returned or sent anyone to have them pay nor did he mention to them about having to pay 1st, so they all we just waiting on nothing! We learned afterwards that they only have 1 handheld device to take orders. Which was being used at the counter for the party of 15 at the time. Everyone else then goes to pay for their food at the counter. Almost an hour later, our other table still has not received their food. At this point, they are irritated and pissed and rightfully so. The lack of communication with their customers and each other should be studied! At this point, one of the ladies from our party decides to cancel her order. I am standing at the counter with her when she requests to have a refund clearly upset by the experience. However she was never loud, disrespectful or belligerent. The worker passed her request along through a window behind the counter. He then shows me a little tab attached to a menu that informs you about going to the counter to order. Well guess what, that lil tag/notice was missing from all of our menus! The owner, the actual owner comes out about 5-10 mins later to process the refund. She doesn't offer an apology, doesn't even ask her why, in an attempt to understand the situation or offer a resolution. This girl walks up and says you want the refund right, processes it and then walks off! Everyone seemed to be barely holding it together. It was as if everyone was numb and just didn't have it in them to care. This doesn't justify anything though.

Ultimately while the food was good, I was at the 1st table of our group, and we more than likely would have returned on future visits, but given this entire experience, she has lost us as customers. This place has patrons visiting from all around the states, to have an unorthodox process for completing orders and not have staff mention this upon entry and not have it posted where everyone can clearly see it questionable. No one there apologized to her, NO ONE! We even asked to speak to the owner again, afterwards, but after waiting about 5 mins she never came...

B Sweet Bistro is by far THE BEST restaurant in NOLA. Anyone who has been in New Orleans knows the city has Great Eats. This is my third trip here and my first since Katrina - I've been wanting to get back here for 20 years, because of the food alone. This little spot is on the edge of the French Quarter, with an underwhelming exterior sandwiched between two bars. If you blink, you will miss it. My bff and I are here for a friend's destination wedding. On our first full day of this 6-day trip, we wandered into B Sweet by happenstance on the hunt of something sweet before our paid 6pm ghost/voodoo tour starting across the corner.

First, the owner, Ms Brittney, is the epitome of the restaurant's moniker. She is so sweet and welcoming. Because some bakery hours tend to open and close earlier, when we approached the door at 5:15pm, we asked another patron if it was open. She replied "Yes and it will change your life." Yes it did and set the bar for the rest of our trip.

The savory dishes are flavorful, hearty and southern comfort. More about that further below. But the sweets, OMG! They are everlasting divinity on this side of the life cycle. Ms. Brittney explained the flavor profiles and the stories behind her fabulous desserts on display. Because the portions are huge to our eyes, after intense deliberation, we decided to dine in and share the carrot cake, rather than taking it with us on the tour.

The cake was so good that I sunk in my seat and ate without exhaling in between forkfuls. We then asked questions about some of the other food items. Next thing we knew, Ms. Brittney came out with samples of her Catfish Mardi Gras Bisque and her Creole Gumbo paired with a mini gooey, ooey grilled cheese sandwich. When my friend saw me pull out half a sandwich from the parchment wrapper with the stretched cheese, she immediately demanded some of it. Both the gumbo and bisque were just the right balance of sweet, salty and spice.

B Sweet's food and experience are superb. This was our fourth dining since arriving the night before, and this treasure has set the bar for the rest of our trip! We decided to blow off our $22 paid tour so that we could continue this "feel good food for you" experience.

Everyone who came in during our visit said they will be back tomorrow. Like them, I am excited and proud to say we are going back today for morning brunch, and plan to bring other friends when they get to town this weekend.

I recommend everyone visit this fantastic Bistro. It will always be on my NOLA trip itinerary anytime I am here....

My family and I went to eat here today and it was a very unpleasant experience. The building is cute but very small and cannot accommodate a large party, neither could the staff. We ordered our food and waited & as soon as the food came out we realized things were wrong. Four people ordered the same thing and when the first two plates came out we were confused why all four didn’t come. Then others food came and they were barely telling us what it was so we could tell them whose food it was. We continuously had to pass plate around to the proper table and person. One sister order gumbo samples and one ordered a large gumbo. They gave the sample to the wrong person and she ate them not knowing it wasn’t for her. 20 minutes later when the large arrive then we realized the mix up. My sister thought it was weird that the large she thought she orders came in two bowls but how was she supposed to know other wise?? She also felt the gumbo was salty. This same sister ordered the Queso dip and you could clearly see that these chips were the bottom of the bag. They are all crumbs and broken up, something you truly should not have served. So now seven of the 9 people have been served and we ask the young lady at the counter where is the food for the last two people and she has goes to check and realize that basically they did not make their food because they did not realize they were missing a ticket. There was Queso dip, and two crawfish catfish plates on that order. They come to the table to ask for their receipt which was provided and as previously started we had four orders of the crawfish catfish plates, so they go to the table as ask for my receipt because that was my order. It could be my perception but I feel as though they felt we were lying and there was never two more plates ordered. So the owner comes out to address / fix the issue and it did not go well. Turns out they were running out of chips so my sister could either get the dip with fries or get her money back. The owner proceeds to tell my sister that she told the young lady at the counter to not sell any more dip because there were no chips. She replies that that’s not true we had already ordered before that message was given to her. The owner proceeds to give her a glaring look like “shut up”. It was very awkward for a few seconds. Needless to say the service was terrible. The food however was delicious despite being very expensive. We will most likely not...
