As an out of towner I just popped in off the street by luck. Jamie was tending bar (extremely personable and also one of the owners) and set me up with a couple of cold drinks. I had the BBQ shrimp sandwich for lunch — and it was impressive. I ended up speaking to Robin who was the head chef there. He gave me a full background on their menu and general philosophy toward food (fresh, imaginative, and local!). Jamie actually told me that they’re best known for their cheese steaks and actually have their bread brought in from Philadelphia.

We had a round, ate some schooner fries, then left to walk around and get dinner. We liked it so much we came back later for more drinks. Read moreThe Gumbo was great. The raspberry cake balls tasted stale. The rueben rolls were blan. Being Irish and German, sauerkraut is too be tangy, this was flat.
The bartender/waiter was not very attentive with just a few people in the place. He put a couples check right over mine. The order was correct but the bill reflected two meals in addition to my order. It only took him 10min to fix the bill.
Also, being a bartender can be difficult but you suck it up, or an occasional smile on ur face and be pleasant with your patron. Remember, they don't need u, u need them.
