8/29-9/3 I stayed across the street at the New Orleans Marriott my second time, I was there last year the same dates. Friday I went to take out breakfast for the wife who was doing the last bit of computer work.
Ok, so last year we had lunch there, it was good food.
I was greeted nicely at the entrance and told to order at bar for food. The bartender was nice, joked with me about something, took my order and offered water while I waited. She was having a conversation with a friend that came in and soon I was a part of the conversation, while waiting it was nice. The wait wasn't long at all!
I got her an egg white veggie omelette, toast and grits, so my wife says come taste this! The omelette was not hard, fresh veggies, flavorful but what also sold me was the creamy grits! The grits were awesome, nice and creamy till the last spoonful and I normally don't eat a lot of grits because of the carbs but I wanted more!
The food was so good we decided to go again on Monday to eat inside to see if this was a fluke, it was not, the same great greeting, we were seated immediately and our server was nice. My wife got the same order and I even got an build your own omelette. I forgot to get egg whites but that was ok, both with toast and grits!
The meals were fantastic! The omelettes cooked right and those grits were again creamy and on point! I forgot to mention portions were nice nice! The place started to get full with customers. A guy leaving said he found his new breakfast spot to eat while in NOLA. I agreed with him!
Our waitress was great, the atmosphere was good, nice and clean and again the food was awesome! Our experience was awesome, we will definitely be eating there when we go back. I would recommend this place for anytime food! I also heard someone say they have great drinks also!
Thanks Daisy Dukes...
Read moreI recently had the pleasure of dining at Daisy Dukes in the French Quarter, and I must say the experience was outstanding. The restaurant's gumbo and shrimp and grits dishes were absolutely fantastic.
First, let's talk about the gumbo. It was rich, flavorful, and packed with a variety of ingredients that created a harmonious blend of tastes. The roux was perfectly cooked, giving the gumbo a deep and robust flavor. The combination of tender shrimp, succulent chicken, and spicy andouille sausage added layers of complexity to the dish. The gumbo was served piping hot and had just the right amount of seasoning, leaving me wanting more with every spoonful. It truly captured the essence of traditional New Orleans gumbo.
Now, let's move on to the shrimp and grits. Daisy Dukes' version of this classic dish was nothing short of amazing. The shrimp were plump, juicy, and cooked to perfection. They were served on a bed of creamy and flavorful grits that had just the right amount of texture. The dish was well-seasoned and had a delightful balance of flavors. The addition of spices and a hint of smokiness elevated the dish to another level. It was a hearty and satisfying meal that showcased the best of Southern cuisine.
The portions at Daisy Dukes were generous, ensuring that I left the restaurant feeling completely satisfied. The service was prompt and attentive, with the staff being friendly and accommodating. The atmosphere of the restaurant was lively and welcoming, adding to the overall dining experience.
