My experience was a horrific one! The bartender was absolutely awful, very rude and extremely condescending! I've been here a few times and have never been treated with such disrespect. I was there on 05-26-2024. I brought a group of friends along with me and all drinks were on me. My drink came out really sour and I made the bartender (Matt M.) aware in a very polite way. He was so damn rude and nasty, it seems to me that he has alot going on in his personal life, probably miserable! Although I wasn't satisfied with the drink I was still very polite. He attempted to intimidate me and was super shallow. When he served my beer I told him thank you and he ignored me. I then said, "Sir, I said thank you!" He replied, "What do you want me to say, you're welcome?" If I could give this experience 0 stars I would. Whatever you are dealing with dude, I hope you get the help that you need. He's very unprofessional, charged me for a drink that I tasted and complained about. I hope that $6 is worth whatever karma will have in store for you. Rude and pathetic! Just nasty-spirited and evil. You won't go any further than where you are...

My friends and I excitedly hiked our way down for drinks and drag but had the plans ruined by hateful and disrespectful bartender. He berated and insulted part of our group for unknowingly blocking his serving space. They apologized and graciously moved but that wasnt enough. The claws came out when asked if it was a cash only establishment. He slammed down a table tint that was hidden behind a pile of junk on the bar and asked if my friend could read. Not exactly welcoming to what would have been paying customers. Needless to say we left and found a better bar and ended up having a great night and dropping a good amount of money on...
Read moreOk so it appears the Lantern might not need another review. I , however , feel like I must do a shout out regardless. So, I’ve visited New Orleans a bit*. It’s my “escape this drudgery and commune with the enlightened expanse of humanity” place. We always seem to be beckoned into the Lantern while out traversing. Perhaps this is, in part, due to its proximity to our lodging. Regardless, what can I say? It’s just the friendliest Franks and Fionas, this place. Traversing with a concerned Cabe , or budget minded Brian , one may describe him as, economics may enter into our decision to enter this lair. So, beer prices are most agreeable, too. You’d like it. I...
