I am shook. At first I was kind of sketched out by this hole in the wall place. To get to the restaurant, you have to walk through this hallway and then the door is at the end. It had a very diner type feel, but much more close. I ordered the catfish with jambalaya and potato salad. I thought this is just going to be mediocre food. So far, the food I have eaten here from more high end places were good, but it did not speak to me. After slowly eating, I realized the food is bomb. This is the New Orleans cuisine is was looking for. The people working there are really kind and it has a super homely feel. The potato salad is creamy and well seasoned. The Jambalaya actually has flavor instead of being a salt bath. The catfish is crunchy and the tartar sauce they provide is unique. I randomly walked in today because some guy on a stool sitting outside the restaurant waved and said try their food. I took this chance and I am glad I did because this was the best lunch I have had since I moved here.

Visited this place on my last day in New Orleans for lunch. The long hallway leading into the restaurant was something I wasn’t expecting especially someone sitting in front of the hallway handing you a paper menu asking if you are going into the restaurant, very much like a bouncer to a club 😂 Once you entered the restaurant, you would find a small dining area with maybe 5-6 tables. It’s self serve so you just need to order your food at the counter/window and pickup there too. The food were quite good and supposedly authentic (I can’t really judge since this is my first time visiting the city). I ordered the gumbo and poboy sandwich with fried shrimps. They were pretty good and reasonably priced! You can tell this place mainly serves locals so it must be legit! The fountain drinks including iced tea with both sugar and sugarless options (actual iced tea, not nestle one). Overall food was good, atmosphere was a bit lacking in my opinion.

While shopping, we passed a man passing out menu's for the restaurant stating it was authentic creole food. I told him we would try them for breakfast the next day. Only 2 out of 9 of us went (long story). When went went into this "BAR" we looked around and saw the restaurant in the back through a clear glass. When I say, "A HOLE IN THE WALL TYPE OF JOINT, THIS IS IT". We both ordered the shrimp and grits. We waited for biscuits instead of getting toast and am I glad we did!!!! The shrimp was a tad bit salty to me but good. I could have SLAPPED THE HELL OUT OF WHOMEVER MADE THE BISCUITS- TO DIE FOR. We tried to go back Sunday morning, but they were closed. I'm back home now and STILL thinking about those biscuits. THIS IS NOT A PLACE YOU WANT TO MISS!!!

Whoever the lady is that answers the phone has TERRIBLE customer service skills!!! I simply asked for a dressed hot sausage po-boy w/ NO tomatoes. When I get on the phone to order the lady is talking over me the entire time. As I WAS a new customer, I didn’t know any prices, so it took me a while to order. I told her I worked at crocs in the riverwalk so that my food can be delivered. When the delivery man gets here, he walked around the WHOLE mall because the LADY did not listen when I said CROCS, instead she wrote Clark’s. Then when I get my food, I see that there are TOMATOES on my sandwich. So I called and told her about the tomatoes and she was VERY rude. She made two mistakes and I still tried to be nice. She starts going off talking about “just take the tomatoes off”. Of course there is nothing that can be done about the tomatoes now, but when a customer calls and Informs you about their order being messed up, you don’t be rude. YOU messed up my order, I did nothing wrong. Then she proceeds to say “ you didn’t even have your order ready and I had to wait on you to get your card information.” Like what does that have to do with you being rude??? It’s your job to get the card information anyways, so what was the purpose of her saying that?? And I WAS a new customer, the flyer that I received says menu prices are without tax. I didn’t know the full price of the food. Long story short, whoever the lady is that answers the phone, you are rude and you need to learn some customer service skills. Learn to listen when customers are ordering, instead of talking over them the entire time. And the fact that a lot of these reviews are saying how rude she is and nothing is being done is completely wrong. Customer Service above all. If she can not be a nice person when she answers the phone, then maybe she shouldn’t be around customers AT ALL. I want to speak with a manager and I will NOT be ordering or dining here anymore. I also will not be recommending this...

This business has completely depleted in quality! I don’t care how slow your business is or how badly you’re failing financially there is no professional or permeable reason to disrespect a potential customer for doing the courteous thing which was calling back to tell you to cancel the order that I had just placed, less than five minutes ago! Old woman you have no accountability whoever you were who answered the phone. I hope you were not the owner with such a deplorable attitude! Telling me to rip up her menu just because I placed an order and was considerate enough to call them back and say I no longer wanted it because the price was way too expensive! I was able to go to Key‘s Food Mart and get the exact same thing they sell for $11 ! not only did this mean lady rush me off the phone she failed to explain that I was ordering two separate plates when I clearly told her that I only wanted one single piece of fish Added to my order! Here’s some valid criticism your dense brain could not have thought of
maybe you should use some discernment and do more diligence when customers are calling in to place an order properly explain that you do NOT offer a la carte options! this would have solved the confusion entirely. Understand my response was only a reaction to your lack of communication
you are unprofessional country piece of trash
you lack empathy and I will ensure your business suffers now! Get business insurance for things like this that’s BOUND TO HAPPEN in the food industry all the time! Otherwise you shouldn’t be in business treating...
