Do not book through Bayou Swamp Tours. They are a third party ticket agency that is a scam and ripoff. We had a lovely time on the tour given by Airboat Adventures. However, Bayou Swamp Tours tried to charge us $119 for the tour even though if you buy it directly from Airboat Adventures its $89. For $119, transportation to and from our hotel should have been provided. The people giving five star reviews are giving credit to the wrong people. On top of that Bayou Swamp Tour charged me a ridiculous $36 dollar processing fee. As soon as we got to Airboat Adventures, I saw a brochure and realized I had been scammed. We immediately called them out on their poor behavior. They eventually refunded me $50 for two tickets but still I overpaid due to the $36 dollar processing fee. Stay away from these guys. They are scammers! We had originally paid for a tour that was a 20 minute drive from our hotel. Five minutes later, even though they claimed there were still spots on the boat, the tour was cancelled due to weather so we had to suddenly drive 35 minutes out to the swamp. The whole tour we were nervous that we wouldn't get a ride back. Luckily we had prebooked a Lyft before we got on the tour or we would have been stranded in the middle of no where due to Bayou Swamp Tours being scammers. AVOID!...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreA few years ago when we visited NOLA, we booked this type of tour with a different company We not only saw a couple giant alligators, I got to feed them chicken and we also got to hold a few baby alligators. Fast forward to this trip, I booked this company on the phone and made sure that we would have the same experience. I was promised we would be able to feed and hold the baby alligators. Not only did we not feed big alligators or hold baby alligators, we really didnāt even see any alligators. We saw one way off in the distance. And that was it. So in the end, we paid a lot of money for a boat ride. Our tour guide was super nice though. This tour company had a lot more boats and a lot more people than the last tour company we used. I suspect that the alligators get a little tired of dealing with the ruckus and just donāt bother surfacing after a while. The one alligator we saw in the distance, had three boats around it. By the time we got to it, it was like⦠Iām done - and it went under and didnāt...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreBayou Swamp Tours provided an amazing experience for our little trio. We had an excellent time exploring the swamp and seeing the gators get a little more up close and personal than I would have expected. Our guide was great and had some good tidbits of information regarding the swamp flora and fauna. Overall, an amazing experience, but they need friendly kid options for drinks while on the boats.
The airboats are noisy, but the company provides ear protection. I traveled with my five year old daughter, and she was originally a bit scared (especially since our first sight was a graveyard), but that fear subsided and she ended up with something unforgettable - even getting to feed Bob, a large gator, a marshmallow. (Be aware, the guides are feeding the wild gators, so conversations with young children about fed gator dead gator/keeping nature wild become warranted.)
I would recommend this company and would go again. Awesome...
