We hit the ground running as soon as we got to New Orleans. We were starving after our road trip from Atlanta. Of course being a tourist the first place we go is Bourbon Street. Not what I expected but that's another story. If I don't know nothing else I knew I wanted to go to Pat O'Briens. Why? Because I had seen it on tv of course. I mean yeah its a tourist thing but how can you go wrong. It was pouring raining and we needed food so we dipped into this restaurant.

It was sorta open like outside kind of open with a covering. Nobody seemed to mind. They had a nice breeze flowing through here even though it was hot as hades outside. We were seated pretty quickly and asked for a table inside near the bar. The place is rather dark and old looking but hey I was still open. We ordered the chicken wings. We were warned that they were not the normal buffalo type of chicken wings. These were made with a tomato based sauce. I was skeptical but I said let me give it a shot. Yessssssssss these things are bomb. They had just the right amount of seasoning on them. We each had two hurricanes their signature drink. They taste so good but will ease up on you real quick. I also ordered red beans and rice and shrimp and grits. The grits were made into grit cakes. When I tell you that gravy was so dang gone good I asked my server for a separate bowl of the juice they put on the Shrimp and Grits. Everything was delicious and let me not forget the alligator bites....

Kim G was the rudest waitress I've ever had. Absolutely awful. She delivered our drinks and never came back. Camped in the walkway out of the place. Eventually a young man waiter came by our table when he saw us sitting with empty glasses. He took our order. When he delivered them Kim G suddenly came back and not only chewed out the young waiter but chewed us out as well. We took our second drinks to the bar for to go cups and wow there is Kim G still hanging out in the hallway staring at the street. If you dont want to be there, leave Kim G. Allow the patrons to spend their money and allow the wait staff who want to do their jobs to take the tables. We thought you left since you never came back and Bryce was our new waiter. He saw a need and tried to help us because he is a team player. A place that would allow Kim G to scold a co worker and scold customers because she didn't want to work is not a place that will ever get our...

Amazing spot right on bourbon street!

First stop when I came to New Orleans for a business conference.

The drinks were nice and strong and you totally feel that hit and get a nice little buzz after a couple. As well, the drinks were huge!

There wasn’t much in terms of food for meals. More like apps and sharing plates, so I opted for some alligator bites. First time having alligator and I knew I had to have more on this trip!

Alligator tastes like chicken, but has a little bit more chewiness to it. And it was super tasty! I’d totally take alligator over chicken if given the option!

Service at first seemed rather I inviting by the waitress, but once we hit it off, it was the best and most fun service I have had!

Great job overall! If you wanna break in your visit or even your evening to the French quarter, definitely start it out with pat o briens!

Service was okay. I try to be understanding as a patron, I think of how many intoxicated people are coming in and out of this very busy establishment I get why the servers were not that personable. The hurricane drinks must be amazing almost every table had one ordered. I looked at the menu online prior to coming here for lunch. It did not match the menu given to us by our waiter. I asked about another item listed online, the waiter replied in rude manner. I was frustrated and hot so I didn't order anything for myself. I had some fries they were delicious, my friend enjoyed her Shrimp it seemed really fresh. The man that brought our food out was very pleasant. Everyone was working really hard. The vibe was fun around the outdoor seating area. It wasn't a bad place to eat the food was served quickly. Other than a the misunderstanding there were no other issues. I would recommend eating here.

ICONIC BOURBON STREET BAR, BIRTHPLACE OF THE HURRICANE There are elements of Harry Potter to this place. You enter via a very narrow carriageway and it opens up like it’s had an Undetectable Extension Charm placed upon it with room after room appearing and, at the centre of the vast patio, you find the Flaming Fountain, resembling the Goblet of Fire! This deceptively vast institution holds three venues: the main bar - where 500 beer steins hang from the ceiling; the patio - a 371 sqm (4,000 sq ft) expanse; and piano bar – home to The Original Dueling Piano Show. Pat O’Brien’s began as a speakeasy on Peters Street and opened as a legit bar in 1933, after prohibition was repealed. In the 1940s, when American hard liquor was difficult to come by, Caribbean rum was plentiful and the famous Hurricane cocktail was born. Can you say you’ve been to New Orleans if you haven’t been here?
