This is hands-down the rudest staff that I've ever seen at any coffee house I've ever gone to. They will let you stay in there while they play on their phones like you're bothering them askin them to make you a coffee. Since I've been in this Hospital me and my family have spent hundreds of dollars. And I'm seriously thinking about taking my business elsewhere and while I'm in the hospital just giving up coffee all together. And if you need them to give you change for anything good luck because the only thing they're going to give you is an eye roll. So as I went back to find out the nice young ladies name(yeah right) she refused to give it to me. She asked me why I wanted it. I explained to her that it was because of her horrible attitude. She said I'm not allowed to give patients change. I said I don't have a problem with that that's not the issue at hand. The issue at hand is the way you're treating your customers. So the fact that she wouldn't even let me know her name speaks volumes because she knows that she's in the wrong. But I'm sure it doesn't bother her one bit as she went along playing her on her phone. But I'll be sure to find out by what shift she was working. I've been in the service industry for over 20 years and I've never written a bad review on anyone and I can't even remember complaining about a waitress or barista. But after being here for over a month and seeing it over and over again day after day I just had to say something. I think they need to get rid of PJ's and bring in cc's or some other company or just completely restaff the store. If you hate your job that much and you hate people that much then maybe you just need to get in a different line of work. I like PJ's Coffee but not enough to deal with the attitudes and I Rose from the staff. If I'm bothering them that much and my family is bothering them that much then I'll make sure that that doesn't...
Read moreWhen I wrote this a few years ago I originally gave it higher stars for atmosphere and food. Unfortunately this rose the overall star rating higher than one so I've changed it. While I do like their coffee, etc and this location is very clean and conveniently located My experience with the staff washes those positives out.
My original post: This just happened at the UMC location. A non English speaking Latin person ordered two coffees and had some questions / requests which she asked in Spanish. The cashier / order taker did not understand her so she told the customer she didn't speak Spanish in a very abrupt and condescending way. The order takers associate ( the only other person there ) who was standing next to her laughed, loudly and obviously, at the condescending remark. Obviously the actions of both employees was extremely mocking of the customers handicap in language. It was disgusting enough that I immediately found a place to sit down so I could write this. I tried to find a phone number for PJs so I can speak to somebody about it but one is not published. Therefore it resulted in this public statement. Regardless as to intent I, being a reasonable person, saw offense in these behaviors. I would say this means that at a minimum those behaviors were not considered well before being displayed. I looked at the woman as she approached me by the condiment counter and saw her embarrassment and dismay. While I believe that it behooves a person to learn a passable amount of the language of the culture they intend to communicate with it is certainly not a requirement and no one should be ridiculed for not being able...

Horrible, awful, absolutely the worst customer service EVER! I’ve never had a rude barista until today. Today changed that, and I’ve had my first and last cup of coffee from PJs in Charity Hospital. After driving from Lafayette I stopped to get coffe before going to my friend’s hospital room. Other than taking my order the girl made no effort to pretend that another human was in her presence. I’m not expecting to be treated like royalty, but I do expect to be acknowledged. After all without customers her job wouldn’t exist. Hopefully she will be replaced and people can enjoy a good cup of coffee without interrupting her day. I ALWAYS tip for coffee; she didn’t even give me a chance to decide. I had to ask for my receipt even though I was paying with a debit card. I honestly would recommend trying the cafeteria for coffee before sharing another dollar with...
