From check in, it was bad. They get 2 stars because we happened to land a corner room (2 bed deluxe) that had ample windows and great views. Other than that, total disappointment! No warning or pre-notice about where to park and how to check in. We pulled up expecting some parking by the door to unload and check in. Nope! Instead I dropped my wife and did circles around the 40,000 one way streets of busy NOLA. They also promised us an additional parking spot if we attended a "ownership review" (which is their continuous gimmick to get more of your money because $30k isn't enough for them). They lied! There was never supposed to be a free second spot and the lady is known for lying about it to drag you into the "review" and yet, she still works there. Says everything you need to know about Bluegreen. This is our first year of ownership and I have the WORST taste in my mouth about this sleazy company! Anyhow. Apparently you just pull up to the garage and they open it. No keycard needed. Which seems VERY INSECURE, they brag security but literally told us that anytime you leave you can just pull back up to the door and it will be opened. They dont check that you are staying there. Once we finally got inside, we were pretty impressed by the feel of the place and size of our suite. Our adult daughters and 2 young boys were with us and they all loves their spaces. The patio is a nice touch. The roof pool is supposed to be heated, but the heater switch was just laying on the ground and not working. The "hidden speak easy" was a let down. It was a pool table room, broken stereo and a TV that had a bad remote. No snacks or even coffee in the speak easy? Lame! The front desk folks could care less if you came to them, they wouldn't give you even a hello when you walked up. I'm not intimidating or mean, I came looking for extra coffee and got rude looks. The first day, we went to the desk asking what time our "review" was as they hadn't told us at check in, and the lady didn't even say a word to me, she just pointed at a different person (would come to find that's the concierge), but to not say "oh sorry, that's the concierge job, let me ask Linda"... something that would seem like customer service would be nice! The concierge is a scam. They'll sign you up for the standard tours high pricing and call it "discounts"... you'll find better discounts on Google. Oh, the guitar in the room was broken and no-one gathers with their instruments to play together, that's a load of salesy BS on their website. The city transit is a bit confusing to learn but we got used to it quick. NOLA is disgusting and disappointing. Everyone is high, drunk, or on drugs. There are homeless on every street and no one cares. The city smells like wet socks (i.e. Pot!) and I frickin HATE that disgusting smell. Why cities pass that law and then go straight to the crapper, I don't get it. It obvious ruins cities. But politics aside, the city feels unsafe and you better keep your family close. I have two daughters and you better believe I walked at the back of our group and watched everything! I won't be back to NOLA again and I will never reco Bluegreen to anyone. I am tired of being pulled into meetings EVERYTIME I VISIT when I just want to relax on my VACATION! That's the idea, right? Vacation!?! BUNCH OF SLEAZY SALES TACTICS! 1hour meeting that is always like 3hours... and if you sign papers, you'll be there 6hours and your fun day is GONE. NEVER, EVER, WILL YOU GET A...
Read moreFirst time stay. Started off a little rough. No way to park outside and check in. We illegally parked and with front doors/garage locked 24/7 luckily security came out and advised us they would open the garage doors and what level to park on. Resort recommendation, guest should be advised prior to arrive of how to gain entry. However, once parked and in lobby, check in was smooth and staff friendly. We had a two bedroom two bathroom unit on 15th floor. Unit was nice, but it took us an entire 24 hour to bring the temperature in the unit up to just 70 degrees. Unit was clean, spacious, but inadequate lighting in the living room. We also had to wash most of the kitchenware as they weren't the cleanest. The coffee maker had to be completely dismantled and cleaned. The resort needs to provide better information at check in, would recommend written direction for owners about where things are located inside resort. There is a roof top level with outside seating area, outside garden and pool. There is no indoor pool. There is an owners lounge, but they remove coffee pods at 11 am and it's nice to have just a cup of coffee without making a pot. Several days it looks more like an employees lounge rather than an owners. Also, most of our stay the coffee maker in the lounge is broken. You can request tea pots, pitchers etc at check in. You are with walking distance to the French Quarter, but I would not venture out after dark. They do have security and doors are locked 24/7. We had Hunter at our owner review, very knowledgeable but they need to stick to the one hour review. We finally had to tell him after 1.5 hours we had a scheduled tour and had to leave. Lot of confusion with information by concierge when doing a review and as part of the review we should have received coupons for various tours, yet after the review we were sent down to pick up our coupons only to be advised we should have received prior to the review and since we didn't get them before hand they couldn't give them to us now. Incorrectly advised about other things as well. However, would still recommend the resort, but they hopefully will read this review and make necessary corrections to enhance...
Read moreI recently received a promotional vacation through Cabela’s in my home State. The offer included a 3-night hotel for 199$ to stay at one of 22 available locations, plus a $50 instant gift card to Cabela’s. After attending a required presentation, I was also given a city tour ticket and an additional $75 gift card. My responsible was to cover the taxes in the hotel stay. However, I was still unsure what exactly Bluegreen Vacations was all about.
We chose to stay at the Drury Hotel in New Orleans, which was phenomenal—great service, a vibrant city full of history, and plenty to do. On the second day, I was scheduled to attend a Bluegreen presentation at a nearby hotel.
Upon arrival, my guests and I were greeted warmly and offered water. We attended a PowerPoint presentation led by Kelly, who was fantastic. Her energy, enthusiasm, and communication style were engaging and informative. That said, I still found the overall concept of the vacation package somewhat unclear, particularly the financial details, which weren’t presented transparently.
Our representative, Michelle, was honest, personable, funny, and never pressured us—qualities I really appreciated. Unfortunately, her manager Regina was the complete opposite. She repeatedly interrupted our conversation, stood over us, spoke loudly and curtly, and made several belittling remarks. At one point, she questioned whether I had “a few hundred dollars,” which came across as condescending and inappropriate.
As a homeowner and single mom, I explained that I don’t make impulse decisions, especially when it involves finances. Regina then loudly suggested I get a credit card for the down payment “if my credit was good enough.” For context, my credit score is 830—I don’t need a credit card, I simply wanted time to consider the offer.
While Michelle was respectful and understanding when I asked for time to sleep on the decision, Regina’s unprofessional and aggressive approach completely turned me off. Her tone and behavior made the experience feel unwelcoming and disrespectful. Based on her conduct alone, I would not feel comfortable doing business with...
