Cotee River Brewing Company — Restaurant in New Port Richey

I grew up in new port Richey, I have been watching our little downtown as it has been going through it’s transformation. Cotee River Brewing Company was one of the earliest signs of this ongoing revitalization that was most apparent to me.

It’s taken me several years, and even moving out of state and coming back to visit, to finally step foot into Cotee River Brewing Company for the first time. I regret not having done so sooner.

Brian was so welcoming to my parents and me. He was very patient with us as we sampled each of the different brews. His chill friendly demeanor made us feel like instant regulars.

My personal favorite was the Loquat Blonde brew. I highly recommend it!!

I gave it 2 stars for the facility and service. Zero stars for the beer. First, they only had 2 of their own beers on tap. We were told that the brewer had a couple of "failed" brews and was behind. Second, one of the two beers "didn't come out right like the brewer wanted" so they add a shot of some flavoring to it. I tried one and my wife the other; I was just able to choke mine down, and my wife couldn't get past half. It seems that instead of trying to brew something "unique," the brewer ought to try to brew and master drinkable, to-style beers before expanding into more...

We have always had great service here. Been only a few times but loved the beer. Unfortunately just now the bartender looked at us walk in (even though she said she didnt see us, which is NOT TRUE.) We waited outside for her to take an order but never came. Normally the gals working here have greeted us and told us to take a seat anywhere and they would get our order.
