787 Coffee Café – Totally Worth the Trip!
My husband and I went all the way from Stamford, CT just to check out 787 Coffee Café, and let me tell you—it was absolutely worth it! We’re both big fans of trying different empanadas, and theirs are hands down some of the best we've ever had. Perfectly crispy, flavorful, and satisfying.
The coffee is freshly made and just right—smooth, rich, and crafted with care. We also couldn’t resist trying a few of their pastries, and each one was as delicious as the next.
Another big plus? The café is super laptop-friendly, which is great if you want to hang out a little longer and soak in the vibe. The atmosphere is cozy and relaxed, making it an ideal spot to unwind.
Special shoutout to Martin, who was incredibly friendly and accommodating. His welcoming energy made our visit even better.
We totally enjoyed our time here and will definitely be back. Highly recommend for anyone who loves good coffee, tasty empanadas, and a...
Read moreWhat a gem! A neighbor alerted me to this location of 787 Coffee, and a friend reminded me of the other locations in the city; though this was the first I had visited. To start off, NYC is not a great coffee city - those of us who have enjoyed the West Coast coffee scene might be disappointed by the local offerings. 787 is, rather pleasantly, an exception. The coffee is flavorful and — more importantly — strong. Add to this the signature drink, the coquito latte. Three words: yum, Yum, YUM! I recommend almond milk, but iced or hot, it is sure to please (and double as a dessert). I’ll end by writing that the entire experience is just pleasant. The staff are immaculately and sincerely friendly, solicitous, and (for)giving; the atmosphere is casual and welcoming; and the combination of all this effort (and coffee) combines to...
Read moreMisleading pricing practices. The menu advertises $6 drinks. The guy behind the counter asked me to pick one of the 3 bean options, and then after picking a bean upcharges another $3 ($9 total) for my coffee. I was really shocked and didn’t even notice until after the transaction went through of the higher cost, so didn’t have a chance to say anything at the moment.
It really upset me though, if beans are going to cost extra, it should be made clear to the customer when asking them to pick one. Absolutely nothing was said about the price of any types of beans in the bean display or verbally by the worker. It felt super shady business practices and sneaky to try and upcharge me without being transparent on the cost.
There’s a dozen coffee shops in a 1 block radius, I won’t be back and won’t be recommending this place to...
