Saturday night around 7:30pm. Not too busy for me to sit in the makeshift extension put up during the pandemic. I ordered Mali Kofta and wonder what the heck I've been eating all these years! Like the first time I had real crab and could never eat fake crab again, I was amazed at how light in texture the dumplings were. Usually they are dense like Christmas fudge at their worst and spongy at their best. Not here. Light, crumbly inside with an almost cous cous texture. A bit of sweet. Usually Mali Kofta is in a tomato cream sauce. This was a light seasoned, creamy, tan sauce. I didn't think to ask. Thankfully it was not over salted! An experience I've not ever had before. The mixed vegetable pakora was ordered by mistake. I wanted something else but ordered this. It was a great mistake they were HOT, light, crispy and flavorful without being greasy or overly seasoned. The best part....I did not get that overly stuffed feeling and dreaded sugar crash an hour later like when I eat Indian food elsewhere. I'm sure glad I found this place. Only slight down side is the male staff kept talking to a regular, alone, female patron whose boyfriend went out "with the guys". The problem, she had a VERY LOUD, vocal fry with nasal thrown in with it that irritated my senses. But that's not the...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreAtmosphere (3/5): Right when you walk in, you are welcomed with the aroma of spices is intoxicating. You walk into a tight homey dining space that fits 10 people, connected right to the kitchen. Thereās some half-outdoor dining available and then a second floor that overlooks the lower floor. The second floor can accommodate upwards of 15 people and the bathroom. Service (5/5): While the staff did not speak English very well, they were extremely welcoming and took the time to get to know me! They served everyone with a warmth and professionalism. I felt like I was a guest in their home. Food: The food was FIREāthere was such depth to the flavors Vegetable Samsoa (4/5): The samosa complemented well with the various dips! I felt like the inside could have been a Garlic Naan (4/5): I would definitely recommend getting 1 order per person as they were not terribly big but very nicely seasoned and soft. I wish they were saltier or had a bit more garlic flavor. Kashmiri Roganjosh (5/5): The lamb chunks were very tender. The curry was seasoned with a punch of flavors and just slightly spicy. I loved every bite. I commend the staff who have to run up and down with our orders!! Overall, very pleasant and delicious meal...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreAmbivalent about whether to recommend this place. I noticed negative comments about the āmanagerā on other reviews. This was my same experience. After sitting down I asked if we could get a plain naan. When it arrived it had butter on it. I asked if we could get a plain one. The āmanagerā overheard this request and said āNo, and you canāt order items separately. Order everything at one time. We are busy. And you canāt make plain naan. It has to have butter on itā. Very unpleasant manner. I always get plain naan at other restaurants. He was just in a sour mood. He chastised another lady and she walked out with her friend without even ordering. I noticed others ordering other items during their meals. We eat Indian food once a week (my favorite Indian restaurant had closed during covid) and would have returned in the future but for the managerās terrible demeanor and lying. Too many other good Indian restaurants to frequent and leave my 20+...
