Spectacular humans work at EuroOptica in NYC. I have been on the hunt for a specific pair of glasses (with a relatively high eye prescription) that have HUGE frames - thus, the majority of retailers I contacted told me that they would could or would not order lenses large enough to cut into shape for this pair of frames (frame = GG0890O in Havanna from Gucci).

Thankfully, somehow during my many hours of research online, I found that EuroOptica carried these frames in the brown color I was looking for. I called them, and was lucky enough to get Natalie on the phone - Natalie is a goddess and deserves everything because she went above and beyond the line of duty regarding making sure these glasses could be made and for her consistent follow up. She was able to tell me that these glasses could be made by EuroOptica — and — that I could resend these frames back to them next year when my prescription inevitably changes for a lens replacement - which is incredible. I am so glad I made the call.

Even better - I accidentally ordered the frames, and had the funds returned to me within 48 hours. I then called Natalie back to order the frames and lenses because I was so impressed with her customer service.

ELLEN, by the way, (manager, I believe?) is an absolute saint and has put up with my calls several times with the same level of kindness and respect - you can tell she truly loves what she does and she is amazing with people / customer service. I am an impatient human and tend to over-harass when checking in on things, and Ellen was the BEST. She even upgraded my shipping because of how excited I was about the glasses and because I just finished my master’s degree.

Oh yes - glasses are PERFECT. I own them in black and couldn’t get the brown pair from the same retailer - and I’m glad that’s the case, because I would not be workin g with EuroOptica otherwise; things happen for a reason. Ellen and Natalie have certainly earned my repeat business. I look forward to ordering the same pair of frames in pink from them, and can’t wait to visit NYC one day to meet this amazing team!

I had a glasses emergency - my 12 year old daughter's glasses, which are progressives because of a crossed eye and which she wears always - were damaged during volleyball practice and we didn't have a backup. I called (what seemed like) every optical store in Manhattan and was told repeatedly that NO ONE could make me progressive lenses in less that 5 days. I finally lucked out when I spoke to Creig at EuroOptica who assured me he could get glasses made. He requested the prescription and was ready and waiting for us when I brought my daughter to the store after school. EuroOptica has an amazing selection of frames and our saleswoman was so knowledgeable about their inventory that she found my daughter a frame she loved in minutes! (My daughter is REALLY picky; she rejected every frame at Warby and several other optical stores we visited for her prior glasses). The technology at EuroOptica is also top notch - they use a 360 degree machine that measures your eyes and face so your glasses sit where they should and the lenses are calibrated for your eye shape/width/height. You will NOT find this at Warby or Costco. The people in the store understand how lenses are made - and the lenses are made on-site - which makes a huge difference. The price point is higher than somewhere like Warby but the experience and the craftsmanship are worth every penny. Creig was knowledgeable and so efficient that we were in and out in half an hour. Did I mention the lovely champagne, cookies, dried fruits and nuts - so appreciated when one is dealing with a tempermental 12 year old - laid out for customers? Our glasses were ready for pick up the next day - even faster than I could have imagined. I have worn glasses my entire life and have been buying them for my children their entire lives and I can honestly say that the glasses from EuroOptica are above and beyond anything you will find at Warby or Lenscrafters or elsewhere. If you wear glasses all day, every day, you will appreciate how much better these glasses are than what you are currently wearing....

This team is well-connected and knowledgeable about the lens manufacturing industry, and they use that insight to ensure their customers get the best possible care. I first came to EuroOptica last year with a complex prescription that another eyewear boutique failed to deliver correctly. Ellen immediately pinpointed the issue the other boutique struggled with for months, recommended a superior lens, and delivered correct lenses to me in a matter of days. Without the expertise and thoroughness of the staff, I would never have known that my prescription was better suited to a different lens that many other sellers did not offer. Every other boutique I went to for years was fine charging me just as much for an inferior lens without taking a close look at my prescription or informing me about my options with different manufacturers. This service resulted in the best vision I have had in years.

Since then, my prescription has simplified due to surgical correction. EuroOptica's team was just as attentive to detail when recommending and delivering lenses to me with a simple prescription as they were with a complex prescription. I brought back the same two pairs of frames I had previously used with the team, and they used my existing records to order new lenses without ever pressuring me into purchasing new frames. Even with a simple prescription that could be made by a lesser boutique or a big-box lensfactory, going back to EuroOptica was a no-brainer. Most sellers are simply nowhere near as knowledgeable about matching lens types with individual prescriptions, measuring precisely, and being transparent about delivery and cost.
