Gelato was good but overpriced... What they need to seriously improve is the system when it gets hot outside and the place gets crowded. I waited in line for 30 minutes to get my gelato. You can only see what flavors are available only when you finally get to the counter. Price is posted only at the counter, not even on their website I checked while waiting. Many of the flavors on their website were not available.
They should have a link to the location's today's menu for the customers can access and explore while they wait. Or at least print out the price list, what flavor is available today at the location, and let the people see it while waiting in line.
So when people finally gets close to the counter, they walk out from the line to approach the counter to see what flavors are available and I was skipped by these people who were behind me on the line. The servers should call "next guest on the line!" I had to argue with the rude guy who were behind me then skipped me with his girlfriend. I told him that he skipped the line, then he started saying loudly "I had to let this woman go first because she yelled at me!" which made me very, very frustrated and uncomfortable. Whom to be blamed was that rude arrogant ignorant guy, but at the same time I wish the store had more organized system to attend customers.
I hope they get the system improved. Tables were not wiped often enough and looked sticky. Music was way way too loud, at the counter I couldn't hear what the store attendant was saying and had to ask multiple times what she said which was more time consuming. Should limit tasting to one or two flavors, as some customers asked for more and...
Read moreAnita's Gelato is a popular gelato shop with multiple locations in New York City. The gelato is made fresh daily with high-quality ingredients, and there are over 150 flavors to choose from, including traditional Italian flavors, as well as more creative and unique options. The gelato is creamy and flavorful, and the portions are generous. The shop also offers a variety of toppings, such as fresh fruit, nuts, and chocolate shavings.
I recently visited the Anita's Gelato location in Yorkville, and I was very impressed with the gelato. I tried the pistachio flavor, which was rich and creamy, and the tiramisu flavor, which was light and flavorful. I also tried the Cookieman, which is a gelato flavor made with vanilla ice cream, meringue, biscotti, and Nutella. The Cookieman was my favorite flavor, and it was the perfect combination of sweet and crunchy.
The service at Anita's Gelato was also excellent. The staff was friendly and helpful, and they were happy to answer my questions about the different flavors. I would definitely recommend Anita's Gelato to anyone looking for a delicious and authentic gelato experience.
Generous portions Friendly and helpful staff Lines can be long, especially during peak times.

Read moreI was on a trip to NY to help my cousin move into her dorm at NYU when I stumbled across Anita Gelato. I was headed to Time Square to meet my family when I walked by here. I love Sweets and I absolutely love gelato. There was a huge line out the door here at dinner time so I knew it must be good.
So after dinner I suggested we go get gelato cuz... I always need a gelato. Fortunately my family was on the same page so we headed back. Well, there was still a long line when we arrived. The estimated time was 40 minutes but it was like half that time.
The anticipation of waiting in line and seeing people exit with huge cones or cups of gelato was more than I could take. The wait was totally worth it tho. This place hit the spot for both my sweet tooth and gelto cravings. They also never rushed us when we finally made it to the front of the line and instead recommended we try as many flavors as we wanted.
Needless to say there are so many flavors that you will find something to fit your fancy. They also had sugar free and other dietetic options if pure unadulterated gelato isn't on your meal plan. Just be warned, whichever flavor you pick the scoop sizes are generous. Definitely more than the original dainty scoops of gelato from Europe.
All I have to say is if you need a gelato stop on by Anita Gelato to get your gelato fix. You won't regret it- your only regret will be...
