Truly spectacular RC church with some of the most awe inspiring architecture you will ever see. The exterior is traditional yet grand and stately with the two towers and massive dome on top. You just can't miss it from the street. The interior is simply amazing thanks to the beautiful stained glass and prominent arches throughout. Some of the glass is actually from France! The ceiling is a phenomenal work of art with so many intricate details and symmetry all working together to create this splendid architectural masterpiece. Everything flows perfectly making this church one of the greatest in NYC. There is no better place to spend time in God's presence. I highly recommend stopping in if you are passing through the area as you will surely be amazed!

I just happened to be passing by one day and wanted to check it out. I’m so glad I went inside and was transported to this peaceful, quiet and spiritual place. The architecture is beautiful and it’s right in between massive buildings in New York City. The calming energy of the space was a nice break from the madness of the city. There’s a theater downstairs that you can access through the elevator. I just wanted to check that out because another review mentioned it. It’s not that cool but it would be fun if you attended one of their events. They seemed to have all kinds of community programs, theater and even a summer day camp for kids.

The doors were open, and you are allowed to sit and contemplate. Recommended for afternoon devotion and the light of the western setting sun shines through the colorful stained glass windows, bathing the pews in soothing golden beams.

Has been my home parish since 1996. An incredible beautiful church, built in the early 1900's by the Fortune Ryan Family. Father John Kamas is the head of the parish. Dedicated, caring and an enlightened. And eloquent speaker, Father John will engage you in his homily. Home to St. Anne's Shrine and the Fathers of the Blessed Sacrament, this church is serene and spiritual in purpose and place...if you are in the neighborhood, drop in (after the pandemic sanctions are lifted). You will leave St. Jean's in a remarkable state of mind...
