Wonderful experience from start to finish. First of all, the atmosphere and service are both at a high level. You’re treated here like you would be at a Michelin star restaurant. Every dish ordered was explained in detail by our wonderful server and the staff also makes excellent recommendations if you are not sure on what to order. The atmosphere was also wonderful. A perfectly lit dining room with background music and beautiful plate settings.
I went here with 3 friends and we got everything to share (family style). I would recommend doing this so you can try as many items as possible because there are too many delicious options to miss out on.
Some of our favorites were the hearty veal soup, which has the most tender veal and delicious seasonings with just the perfect amount of spice. The Georgian garden pkhali spread is one of my favorite Georgian dishes and Askili Orchard does it perfectly. The traditional Georgian Salad is another must as an appetizer and of course you cannot have a Georgian dinner without the beef and pork dumplings and the imeruli khachapuri.
For our main dishes we ordered the Cornish hen and cabbage tolma. These two dishes combine some of the favorite Georgian flavors into a dish that is new and exciting but most importantly tastes delicious.
Lastly, no matter how full you might be after dinner it would be a sin to not order the pistachio cheesecake for dessert. Simply said, by far the best cheesecake I have ever had.
Overall, Askili Orchard is a 10/10 experience in all aspects. Bravo to the...
Read moreGreat service, but overwhelming noise and disappointing food. The setting and ambience of the restaurant are great, and the staff couldn’t be friendlier. Our waiter in particular was excellent. We went for dinner on a Friday, and the place was nearly full. Unfortunately, the noise level was unbearable. It was so loud that our waiter had to raise his voice just so we could hear him, and even then, the four of us at the table struggled to talk. I could barely hear the person sitting across from me. As for the food, it was just okay. If you’re looking for standout Georgian cuisine, this probably isn’t the place. I ordered the Cornish hen, but it was a letdown, it tasted no different from an ordinary chicken breast. Some of the starters, which were spreads, really needed bread to go with them, but we were only given two tiny pieces. When we asked for more, we received another two, which again wasn’t close to enough (and we’re not even big bread eaters). I later noticed a $6 charge for the bread on the check. That meant a $20 starter effectively turned into a $26 dish before tax, just for a few slivers of bread. Overall, while the service and ambience were pleasant, the noise and the underwhelming food made the experience...
Read moreAskili Orchard is a true gem that recently appeared on the New York dining scene. This is not just another Georgian restaurant it’s a place that reinvents the classic flavors of Georgian gastronomy with elegance and innovation. The menu offers a wide range of traditional dishes, but each one comes with a refined, modern twist. From beautifully plated starters and fresh salads to hand-rolled khinkali and perfectly baked bread, every plate feels like a balance between authenticity and creativity. The presentation is exquisite, and the flavors are bold yet harmonious you can taste the respect for tradition while enjoying the sophistication of fine dining. The atmosphere of the restaurant is another highlight: stylish, warm, and welcoming, with a modern bar that perfectly complements the dining experience. It’s the kind of place you can enjoy for both a casual evening and a special occasion.
As a Georgian, I couldn’t be more proud to see our cuisine represented at such a high level. Askili Orchard sets a new standard, and I believe it will soon become one of the city’s most talked-about culinary...
