Experience wise I did not have a good experience food wise I’m giving it 2 stars.. I felt like I was being discriminated from the second I walked in.. Me and my little sister walked in I ordered three tacos then asked the cashier where the restroom was. He told me that I cannot use the restroom until I paid for what I ordered. At that moment I got furious and told my sister to go to the restroom anyways that was the most inhumane situation I’ve ever been in in my life. I get it if there is a customers only get to use the restroom situation but I clearly ordered food then asked for the restroom and he told me no until I paid for the food.. I asked him if there was a owner or manager around he told me know that he would take my phone number and give it to him it’s been four days and I have yet to hear from the owner or manager. I am still stuck on the situation four days later only because I didn’t really think people were that serious when they came to their jobs and being a human. Am I still waiting for the owner to call me absolutely but do I...
Read moreI live right around the corner from B’KLYN BURRO and, before today, would grab lunch or dinner there often. I miss authentic mission style burritos, and though BK Burro’s rice is bland, el farolito and taqueria guadalajara are thousands of miles away.
The details of my interaction are hard to convey, but the owner has gnarly aggressive and anxious energy. Upon arriving, let me know it would be a few minutes before I would be served, and when I nodded, he lectured me on how it was necessary to greet people and by telling me that i would not be served immediately, he was doing just that. It was baffling. When I turned to sit at the nearest table so as to not hover by the register, he told me I couldn’t sit at a table for two.
It all sounds so absurd when summarized but trust me, dear readers, the vibe and tone were nasty. He wears glasses, a beard, and a baseball cap. If you’re hungry and must eat here, place your order with anyone but him. Sad to lose a taqueria so close to home but the...
Read moreAs a San Franciscan who moved to New York City last summer, I have been missing the unique flavors of SF Mex. I am pleased to report that B'KLYN Burro in Clinton Hill delivered in spades!
So much of the experience was true to form. I ordered the Pollo Asado burrito and a Jamaica. They gave me a basket of chips and directed me to the salsa bar, which had all of the staples of a proper San Francisco Mission taqueria. The burritos are a little smaller than a true Mission burrito, but that was fine by me since that meant I could have my burrito and my chips without getting overstuffed. They even have a Baby Burrito option for those who want smaller portions. The Pollo Asado, the rice and pinto beans, the pico de gallo and the cheese and sour cream we're all beautifully represented, and if I closed my eyes, I would be transported back to Taqueria Can-Cun on Mission Street by flavor alone.
Thank you, B'KLYN Burro. These are the EXACT flavors I've been missing....
