Bagel Supreme — Restaurant in New York

Got here 5:50 am to attend the pre bike ride before NYC Marathon start. Shop opened early and line had already formed with many New York’s Finest in blue. The wait was only 5 minutes, line moved quickly.

I ordered the 3 egg whites on a bagel and was charged $5. I pointed out to the cashier that the menu overhead states $4.25. She said it’s the tax. Looking at the receipt, there was a discrepancy.

Not wanting to hold up the line and fuss over 75 cents, I moved aside. Either she is incorrect or the system hasn’t been updated to reflect the new higher price.

Coffee was a good deal for a medium size at $2. Also able to sit inside away from the cold autumn air. Place does look quite busy, not sure if the marathon played a role in this or food is just good. I do hope they rectify the price issue so other customers don’t...

Stopped in early morning about a quarter after seven in the morning on a Thursday, walked in and it was very clean but nothing spectacular inside. It’s a small place with two tables, for seating of four at each. You can sit down and wait for your order or you can have a seat and eat. Wait time was under five minutes for them to take my order and another five minutes or so for it to be completed. I was going to order a plain bagel but I noticed they had a tray of croissants off to the side, so I ordered one lighty toasted and lighty buttered. I was a tad disappointed because they appeared freshly baked but when I tried it, I didn’t get that freshness feeling. To me it tasted just like a regular croissant that you can buy that already came prepackaged. Overall the service was decent, so I’d give it a try with...

I ordered a Philly Cheese Steak sandwich so the guy went to the back to make it. He came back because some weirdo customer was upset they weren’t making green bagels for some reason? (I guess a lot of weirdos come here.) They also only accept cash.

When the guy making my sandwich came back out to speak with him, he was holding a frozen, squared “steak-ums” looking meat with his bare hands! OMG I was so horrified at everything about it that I had to run out nearly puking. 🤢
