When I walked in to checkin the lobby was full of people. While on line I over heard complaints of other guests saying they've been waiting forever to check in and that they had to wait several hours. After about a 25 minute wait to check in we had to wait another 15 minutes for the elevator. There was a wedding party at the hotel and it was all the hotel staff seemed to care about as they allowed the wedding guests to get on the elevators before my boyfriend and I who were clearly waiting first. At the restaurant, which charges $30 for a cheeseburger, our waitress was very inattentive- service was terrible. We ordered two slices of cheesecake to go at $9 each and when we got back to our room we laughed at the "slices" which looked like a small butchered square size piece of cheese cake that fell on the floor before it they plopped it into a to go container. This morning at 8:30am I tried to order room service for a pot of coffee and the man essentially talked me out of it saying it would be an hour wait because there were many orders before me. This hotel is pretty but not well run at all. And the most expensive rooms I've ever paid for to boot....
Read moreGreat Bagels/Frustrating Experience I really would like to give this place 5 stars because they do have great food, however every single time I go in here, it feels like an ordeal simply placing an order. The main point of my frustration is that they don’t seem to pay attention to you.. they ask what you want, and then like clockwork they turn away from you while you’re trying to explain the particulars of your order, missing the details of what you want, which subsequently leads them to asking you repeatedly what you ordered, like it’s your fault. God forbid you order more than one sandwich.. it’s like “ hellooo, I wasn’t finished!” They’re just kinda rude and I always leave there feeling angry and betrayed as a frequent customer.. maybe it’s time to find another bagel spot. And look, I’m not a timid person.. you always have to get to the point while ordering in nyc bagel shops, but if they’re just not gonna even pay attention to you then it doesn’t matter how seasoned you are as a fast talking New Yorker. Let the client finish explaining what they want before running away from them and you’ll save...
Read moreI am 100 percent down on Bagel Talk. On my last visit, I ordered a flagel and asked for it to be toasted thinking it would be sliced in half like a regular bagel for two extra thin halves. I wanted thin and crispy, hence my ordering a flagel. No. They just halved it at the width and stacked it high, giving me more-or-less a regular bagel. Today, I thought I'd try a gluten free bagel. Again toasted with cream cheese. And it was the price of two bagels with cream cheese. I asked and it turns out they charged me the regular bagel/cream cheese price plus another $3 for the special bagel. So I've paid double the price for half the order. And then I see it -- it's half the size of a regular bagel and so gooey, there's no way it was ever toasted. Hey Bagel Talk -- let the buyer beware -- warn the next customer about your paltry size and double price. I'm placing my next order at Barney Greengrass. And ps - The only reason you're in business with these practices is because of your elderly neighbors and the kids from the local middle school looking for a cheap lunch out....
