The food is blah – the buffet is okay but the bagels and pizzas are sad. The bagels are made to look good but I don’t think the owners actually taste the stuff. Like another reviewer said, the cinnamon raisin bagels don’t taste like cinnamon and they barely contain raisins and are often hard. The dough does not work for pizzas and gives them a weird texture/flavor. That experiment is a failure.
The owners made another mistake that can easily be solved using logic: you can only order bagels, sandwiches, and pizzas from a single person at the back of the store. Your establishment is called “Bagizza” so I would think that you would be able to order these items from any register in the store. WRONG. If you want a pizza, sandwich, or a bagel, you have to go to the back of the store. They are literally de-prioritizing the products for which the store is named. There is a huge coffee bar where they should easily be able to handle many customers that want to order these products but they are instead forced into a single line in the back. I have seen the masked woman that works in the back working two registers simultaneously to keep the line moving. People complaining about her service must be oblivious to this fact because not only she is very quick and attentive, she also takes care to explain the menu. Oftentimes, I have seen that she single handedly takes orders, answers the phone, calls out the orders for customers to pick up when ready, and then has to deal with jerk customers like R A below. What do the owners expect will happen when you make one person do the job of 4 people?
Speaking of the employees, I have seen some people working here that also work at a corner deli on Madison and grocery store in the 50s. I get the feeling the owners are pushing employees around instead of fully staffing this establishment. Of course, these employees will make mistakes if they have to remember how to use several different POS systems and don't have a "home base". They need more trained resources and to share the load among the employees if they want this operation to continue. It really feels like the owners lack creativity and common sense - they...
Read moreI’m writing to share my recent experience at your store, which was very disappointing. The cashier who assisted me was extremely rude and unprofessional.
When I asked for a sesame bagel toasted, with a small container of cream cheese on the side (as I usually order it), she seemed rushed and irritated. She repeatedly questioned me about the size, and when I tried to explain, she interrupted and refused to sell me the plain bagel with cream cheese on the side. I was shocked, as I’ve ordered it this way many times before without any problem.
When I asked to speak with the manager, she responded rudely, saying she was the manager — in front of other customers. Her tone and attitude were completely disrespectful and embarrassing.
I’ve always enjoyed coming to your store, but this experience left a very negative impression. I hope you can address this matter seriously, as no customer deserves to be...
Read moreThe staff took multiple attempts with each person to get even small orders correct. I ordered two bagels and it took 20 minutes to finally get the order in correctly. Even then I had to pay more with them adding the components of a salmon bagel than just getting their “salmon bagel” standard order. They couldn’t figure out how to enter their standard menu items. The owners need to spend some time getting their staff familiar with their menu and their ordering machines. There was obviously no manager on duty to help. Besides myself, I saw the same problem with 5 other customers and two different order entry people. The bagels themselves were disappointing. They are doughy and chewy, you can get them at any grocery store anywhere in the country. Very disappointing for a New York bagel store. The building is large, clean and bright. If you want a true New York bagel, and better service;...
