Delightful Irish Sports Pub just off of the mainstay on E. 57th. Very popular watering hole for the local sportsman and the business crowds for the after-work hours wind-down, with colleagues or partners. The food selection is very good. Moderately priced to fit a modest budget. We chose Fish ‘n Chips and one of their select salad. Everything was served on very heavy bone porcelain plates, with very outstanding oversized cocktail orders too. Very deliciously prepared and presented, and the wait staff greatly attentive and super-friendly compared to the onlooking patrons that were sneering and jeering as they went past our table near the doorway entrance. Now, pictures were difficult due to the lighting. Being dimmer once the camera was turned on, adjusting for it was a bit strange. So without any noticeable pictures, there are outside cafe tables which was completely hoarded by a large contingent of females dressed in reds and whites for some reason, there, since we arrived and departed later. The indoor section has a long bar with wide screen monitors aligning it from end to end. There is a private section next to the front of the sidewalk windows and a back side with more tables closer to the kitchen. The layout was intended to accommodate viewers watching baseball, soccer or football, et cetera from opening to closing, 7/7. A really nice place to unwind (less the constant negativity stressed by other unwelcome patrons), but enough to satisfy a bite or two in this end of Manhattan’s Upper Eastside. Which for all intent purpose have never frequented much since before the pandemic. Otherwise generally highly...
Read moreStopped here around 7 on a weekday and it was pretty packed but we were sat right away. The second level was closed for a private party. There weren’t any cocktails on the menu that sounded great but the bartender was happy to make us “something fruity”, which ended up being a very solid martini! The nachos came out quick and were fine. My only comment is that my friend and I had four martinis and 2 shots in a three-hour window and we were super regular, just talking. Not screaming, dancing, slurring, talking to other tables, just talking. We thought it was interesting when the server came by and “Alright ladies” in a chiding tone when we asked for another drink but instead, the bartender came by and let us know he was cutting us off. We, at first, just said Okay and paid but I was curious and asked him why, as we had done nothing but talk, and he said he didn’t know us and that was a lot of alcohol already. I appreciate them trying to be responsible I guess, but it was a bit weird to me to be cut off for what I would consider to be a not excessive amount of drinking and no hint of bad, drunken behavior. Is it strictly one drink per hour¿¿¿¿...
Read moreThis is one of the best Irish pubs I’ve been too given its dine in service and food quality. I do love their happy hour menu. I got a frozen margarita and I was not disappointed. This is the best frozen margarita I’ve ever had, they put a good amount of alcohol in this one that it makes sense to have the frozen option, perfect for summer. I ordered the chicken wings, spicy, it’s good I like it as they had a good crisp cooked well and the sauce is nice and balanced which goes great with the blue cheese. I do love the meat, quality of their hamburgers as they use a good amount of sirloin. This is great if you’re walking in the city with friends and if you like to hangout and go to happy hour, I highly recommend coming here. Bloom’s Tavern, I look forward to seeing you guys again in the future to try out your other food options and I’ll definitely come back for your happy hour when I’m...
