I placed an order on January 14th. Online it said the order may be delayed 4-6days (typically says it ships in 24 hours) due to an increase in orders which I completely understand. I just received my order today February 7th three weeks after ordering. I ordered a sweet mix and a sour mix. Both come with a good amount of candy in them, however, as a retail business they are very aware of the items going around on social media and what people most people are wanting to see in their orders. I didn’t receive any of the popular candy that is currently trending not even one. Instead my bag of sour candy has maybe 4 different things instead of a variety (a large one being the sour rainbow ribbon candy you can buy here way cheaper). I’m highly disappointed that I spend $50 on candy that you can clearly tell is just whatever they had left over instead of stocking what they know is popular. Very disappointed in my experience. I would discourage from ordering any type of variety bags unless you can go in and pick out your own products.

Review is based on 2 separate components: the Sunday Swedish hotdogs and the actual candy shop. (1) the Swedish hotdog on Sunday’s are bomb. It’s delicious and different and worth trying once. It’s quite pricey for it being a small hot dog ($6) but it’s really good. The guy serving is great with his service and super approachable. 5 stars! (2) the actual candy store is okay. They have good COVID protocol and make sure the shop doesn’t get bombarded with people at once by keeping a line; however, the candy is dry and hard on ones that haven’t been sold for a whole. The candy has aired so the marshmallows are hard and slightly stale. The 2 glad working are indifferent in their job and although they answer questions and are attentive - they don’t seem to enjoy their job. About $20 for a lb of candy. Missing sockerbit as they were great.

FINAL UPDATE: I want to honestly say that I was so angry when I originally received my order due to it not being anything of what it was raved to be like and I let them know. They reached back out to me and refunded me and I just wanted to forget about it. I unexpectedly received another package from BonBon and I am so surprised. As well very happy that they went out of their way to try and make up for my horrible experience. Everything I had an issue with prior they made up for it in this package they sent me. Thank you for that. Although there were issues due to everyone ordering I now feel that once they get a hang of all these orders they will be amazing. I am sure that before all this their customer service was amazing and I do feel that we just need to extend more grace. Thank you for being a company that actually cares to make their customers happy or right any wrongs.

UPDATE: I can’t believe waiting a whole MONTH later for my order , to have no BUBS and not any popular items and it taste like left over hard candy (also has licorice???) , i just want to throw it in the bin and the experience has been ruined for me. I am so disappointed and angry i even spent my money with a company likes yours to begin with.. I have contacted you guys so many times, and you guys have either ignored me until finally contacting me, or have given me the runaround and it really is such a disappointment that after all that THIS is the item that was supposed to be “worth the wait” . I understand dealing with so many new orders but this is so unfair and feels like you guys pick and choose who you guys choose to ship to or give great items to. I just want my FULL REFUND right away and to never have to deal with this company ever again. There is no reason why I have ordered from another company and it is coming in three days with the items I actually want and it’s cheaper . I feel you guys really need to do better. Please don’t take a month to give me my refund either. Because I really don’t want to have to dispute the charge, or anything else. NEVER AGAIN.

2 Weeks ago: I am so disappointed with this company. I was so excited to get the sour bag when I ordered it because it was for my best friends birthday since I ordered candy from different countries for her party candy table. I emailed Bon Bon letting them know I really need it. I got an automated email saying they will only reply if its to cancel/refund. Then I saw many people saying they never got their order or it was wrong. My friends birthday PASSED and I am so upset that I spent money on a item that never came and probably never will. I don't have hope that this company will fix this or ever send my order which sucks because I really wanted to support and make my friend happy. This was not cheap and I really hope you guys in the future can work on customer service and just communicating with your buyers. As well as not accepting orders when you have already so many that you haven't...

I have ordered twice from this place . Being an expat Swede I was delighted to find out about this store from one of my kids who had visited in person. My first order was a couple of weeks ago . I ordered one of the mixes and some Singoalla cookies and also the Ballerina cookies . I was impressed that the order arrived the next day . When I opened the box I was very disappointed that I did not get the Ballerina cookies but the chocolate version instead . I figured somebody made a mistake so I swallowed my disappointment since I don't like being a complainer The other items in my order were great and the flavors brought me back to childhood . I was not happy with the high delivery fee but accepted it for a special treat .On Monday this week I put in a second order to celebrate my upcoming birthday. This time I put together my own mix with mostly chocolate based candy. The order arrived in a timely fashion . I got a notification that the order had been delivered on my porch . When I arrived home about an hour later I found the box had been shoved inside our open mailbox. Needless to say ,when I opened the box I was met with a melted mess . Most of the items were half melted and a lot of the pieces were stuck to one another. After a couple of hours in the fridge I was able to salvage some of it. A lot of the candy that was wrapped , especially the Plopp was destroyed because the wrapping was stuck to the chocolate . That was the candy that I was really looking forward to. I had to discard about one third of my order . I sent an email to the owner but have not gotten a response . If I am paying 10 dollars for delivery I expect proper handling . Since the pieces were stuck together and barely edible I did not get the flavor flashback to childhood that I was looking for . I don't think I will order from this place again . If I am ever in NYC I might shop in the store Update 7/25 After not receiving a response to my email I called the store . Initially I spoke to an employee but got a call back from a manager within 30 minutes . The manager was very apologetic and responsive . They will be sending me a new shipment and also refunding me the cost of the item missed in the first order. I am very happy with the response . Might have to make a special trip to the store next time I visit my kid who lives in Newark...

Went on a particularly busy day, and had to stand in line for around 10-15 minutes. That I do not mind at all, and there was an employee outside the door handling some boxes who was very sweet + was overall very kind. Once several customers left the store, I was let in by the employee I mentioned beforehand, who also unhooked the little barricade thing to allow me to enter the store. However, as soon as I entered I was greeted by a very unfriendly worker at the register who immediately yelled at me for entering. I explained to her that i was LET in by the other employee, but she continued to question me until the employee from outside confirmed with her that I was in fact, let in by her. The blonde woman at the register was incredibly rude to me, yet suddenly so kind to the people who entered after me (not questioning how they had gotten in). It was ridiculous how she assumed that I simply walked in on my own when there was someone at the front making sure the store did not go over capacity. Furthermore, the area is tight—-and someone bumped into me making me spill my coffee all over my clothes. I asked the same employee at the register if they had napkins or paper towels, and she said “no we do not” with quite a rude tone. While I understand the store was busy, she was not serving anyone and I find it hard to believe that a store that sells candy and ice cream doesn’t have a single paper towel. I would have been more understanding if she had been kinder to me in the first place. I heard such great reviews about this store yet this employee fully ruined my experience + there was barely any candy available for purchase. The store was messy, sugar and stray pieces of candy were all over the floor with no one cleaning it up, and the selection was lackluster to say the least. The candy I did get was pretty good, but the terrible customer service really really disappointed me.

FYI the lady who really made this experience tolerable was someone with short, curly black hair. Please let her know that she is doing amazing and really softening the blow of the downright terrible...
