Thrown out of Brooklyn Inn for laughing — an outrageous display of aggression from the bartender.
This was one of the most humiliating and infuriating experiences I’ve ever had in a bar. Our group had just started our night and was making our first order when the bartender — tall, long brown hair, looking like an unhappy Tarzan — decided to single us out and kick us out. We were literally kicked out for laughing. Our drinks were still sitting unfinished on the bar when we were forced to leave.
The bartender’s behavior was aggressive, entitled, and completely unprovoked. It felt like a personal attack — he wasn’t maintaining order, he was flexing power and humiliating paying customers. His hostility ruined what should have been a fun and simple night out.
Brooklyn Inn has lost all respect. A pub should welcome laughter and enjoyment, not punish it. If you want to spend your money somewhere you’ll actually be treated decently, go anywhere else in Brooklyn — this place...
Read moreI have worked around the corner from this place my entire adult life. It has seen some (recently seldom, I'll admit, I'm a parent to young kids) life celebrations, and some work commiserations, but the last two times I have gone it has been about the most unpleasant bar experience I can recall. This evening I got some terrible news, needed a moment to myself and thought get a glass of wine and try to count your blessings. Instead I get ignored by two unbothered bartenders, one on his phone and the other chatting with friends. I'm the only person at the bar giving all signs I'm ready to order, but the only acknowledgement I get is a jerky thumb rocked back in my general direction from one barman to the other saying 'can you help?!" no, you can't. Life in New York is too expensive to spend a dime on this nonsense. Pro tip: it costs the same to be nice, it's Tuesday for goodness sake. Beautiful bar, imported millwork, everything that's nailed...
Read moreBe aware! I Rarely write reviews; however my visit, to Brooklyn Inn left me unsettled and shocked as I observed a long haired bartender displaying aggressive and intimidating behavior, towards a patron. The bartender demeanor was shockingly impolite, unprofessional and extremely aggesrrive. Almost bordering on the side.
The customer appeared courteous and composed. Was visibly disturbed and emotionally affected by the behavior they experienced. This kind of treatment is completely inappropriate and intolerable, in a setting such, as a bar where individuals gather to relax and have a time.
I find it concerning that a person who displays such a temper is permitted to interact with customers as part of their job responsibilities. This particular occurrence has left me with a bad perception and I will never recommend this business unless appropriate measures are implemented toward the guy behind the counter. It is unjust for anyone to be subjected...
