Carvel — Restaurant in New York

This Carvel ice cream shop has been around for maybe over 20 years and I mostly came here like once a year 5 an more years ago when they had the "Free Cone Day", there were huge lines of 25 plus/minus people in the queue to get their free, promoted cone of ice cream. Couple of says ago I decided to pay this place a visit because I knew that they changed their branding/signage/color-schemes from the "old/pink" 2012 scheme to the "modern" colors so I hoped that this place would improve, but to my disappointment its only the signs, flooring and paint that visually changed, the customer service and overall store experience still remained the same. The good thing is that they have several soft serve ice cream machines, each with 2 flavors to choose and hard/scoopable ice creams in wide assortment to choose from plus the toppings/fixin's such as sprinkles/crunchies/candies and sweet waffle cones/cups. The bad things about this place is that the guy behind the counter was kind of grim and seemed disinterested [he did acknowledged me after a while, but he just seemed like his mind was concerned about something else]. Another bad/negative thing about this location is the store sign with visible rust underneath and the bird dropping/poo on the side [in 2012 it seemed like they had the anti-Pidgeon spikes on top of the sign. Third negative aspect is that they don't have any Carvelite [light ice cream] to choose from. The final negative aspect is that this place is just to small and has the "buy and get out!" vibe about it; there are no tables to sit at and enjoy the ice cream at other than countertop at the center of the store that has the choice of illustrated 6 soft serve flavors and cake customization choice sheet on it. I just don't think that the owner seriously cares about this Carvel. I hope that this places improves and that the owner steps...

It really not cool that carvel has removed dairy free options. How is that fair to dairy/lactose intolerant people. I now can not enjoy carvel ice cream because of my intolerance to dairy.

They certanily dont believe in the customer is always right. I made an uber eat order and i call to ask if they large because there was no option in the app and both guys arguing with me that its there. That they dont know why i dont see it. You tell me do you see an option for large.

They are good I Love the drinks there in my neighborhood but they need to package their drinks better for uber eats I had get refunded 3 times and able to drink my shakes because they were destroyed spilled everywhere cracked cups. They say it's not on them because they know how they packed it, but it is because they dont package it right than uber goes crazy. They suck at packing drink and than uber goes a step further and ruins it more. I no longer use uber to...

So far I have had two birthday cakes prepared at Carvel on 65th Bay Parkway and bought ice-cream on several occasions. The quality is good same as any other Carvel elsewhere. What matters is costumer service that one cannot feel welcome in this location. In the past two years, most of the staff in this location have been icy and hot tempered. If you seek integrity, gratitude, benevolence, love and authenticity in daily human interactions, at this moment in time, I would definitely NOT recommend this place to you.
