Review for Carvel:
Carvel has been a beloved destination for ice cream lovers for decades, and it’s easy to see why. Their soft-serve ice cream is creamy, smooth, and consistently delicious, with a nostalgic charm that keeps customers coming back. The classic Flying Saucer and Cookie Puss cakes are iconic treats that bring back fond memories for many, and their selection of sundaes, milkshakes, and ice cream sandwiches never disappoints.
One of the highlights of Carvel is their signature "chocolate dip" coating, which adds a delightful crunch to their soft-serve cones. The seasonal flavors and limited-time offerings are always a fun surprise, and their commitment to quality is evident in every bite. The staff at the locations I’ve visited are friendly and efficient, making the experience even more enjoyable.
That said, the prices can feel a bit steep compared to other ice cream chains, and some locations have limited seating, which can make it tricky to enjoy your treat on-site. However, the quality of the ice cream and the nostalgic vibe more than make up for these minor drawbacks.
Whether you’re stopping by for a quick cone or picking up a custom cake for a celebration, Carvel delivers a sweet experience that’s hard to beat. It’s a must-visit for anyone with a soft spot for classic, creamy...
Read moreWe all know ice cream can get messy, especially on the go. After already spending $5.00 on this waffle cone , I asked Tee, also the manager for a cup to place it in so the kids wouldn't make a complete mess on themselves and in the car. He responds with "you didn't order it in a cup so I can't give you a cup." He gave me the plastic lid you see pictures above, which I appreciate because it was something, but a bit too shallow and small to be fully effective. I explained to him the situation with the kids and let him know two children would sharing and again, he continuously shook his head, so very adamant about not giving me a cup.........
Now, usually this type of interaction would not irritate me, but here's why it did:
In my 25 years of life and experience with Carvel, this is the first time I've ever gotten any pushback with getting a cup after ordering a cone. ?
This location is extremely busy, situated on the corner of 183rd and Grand Concourse, so it took 10 mins to even find a hydrant to pull over by...
Even after Tee realized his mistake in how he scooped and placed the ice cream that contributed to the mess, he still refused the cup! Was it really that serious ?
The service was horrible. I will never be returning and will tell all friends in the area about my ridiculous...
Read moreFirst of all, I'd like to point out that I love Carvel, it is absolutely my favorite, I've gone to 4 different carvels and they all have a different price to the quarter pint, I am not sure if that's what you call but whatever, anyways I just came from this one about 3 hours ago, and first of all I was ignored by the girl second of all, I asked her how much it was and she said 6.50 per each small tub or quarter pint or whatever, so I asked for two and everything was good, when I get home I noticed that the girl (I am trying as hard not to refer to her as something else) didn't even fill it halfway here's a photo of the ice cream which I have not touched, I am livid, I payed 6.50 for each one of these, they both look like that, and I couldn't even get it filled all the way to the top, I will never attend this...
