Lulo — Restaurant in New York

I’ve had way better dominican food, this was just ok. Lacking flavor, some people in our party found their fish and meat dry. I find the prices high for what it is. $20 for chicken rice and beans. Service was very slow. Ordered some food and by the time they went to serve it they ran out and asked one person in our group what they wanted to replace it with and not the other person that also ordered. Had to remind waitress of parts of order that were missing. Drinks were overly sweet. There’s no kids menu or portion either so if ordering for kids you are better off just sharing.

You also pay more if using a card vs cash. Our bill was $12 more for using a card.

There was also no soap in the bathroom and walking in smelled of nail polish or something like that.

Took us around an hour to hour and half to get our food. Wouldn’t come back and...

I’ve read a mix of reviews—some good, some bad—and honestly, both sides make fair points. It’s important to understand that this is not a five-star restaurant; it’s more like a fast food place. So, if you manage your expectations, the experience makes more sense.

As for customer service, it really depends on the time of day and who’s working. You might encounter someone who’s not very pleasant, or you might get someone who’s actually quite nice. It’s inconsistent.

To be honest, I wouldn’t usually stop at a place like this. But I travel from a bit of a distance, and when hunger hits, I don’t always have a choice—so I end up grabbing whatever’s available. Sometimes the food is not too good, and other times...

The Receptionist hung up the phone on me when I asked why they don't take Credit Cards over the phone. I called back, placed my order and didn't get the order delivered up until an hour and fifteen minutes later. I was 4 blocks away from the establishment... Clearly someone got offended. But the Chicharron de Pollo sin hueso was too dry, The Avocados looked old, They forgot the Salad I ordered and the Jugo de Limonada is bitter. I love food & i do not recommend this establishment for a first time eating any of these items I ordered....
